I think a person who just relocated to Nigerian from an advanced country first needs to settle down and understand how things work in this country before talking of opening a new business.

Also any new business he plans to open should be along the lines of whatever training he already has and his skillset

Order sacks of foodstuffs from the North and sell in the East or West. You can start with Beans and Melon. A 100kg bag of lron beans from the North will cost you not more than 110k for everything including transport. You can then sell between 125 to 135k depending on your customer base. You can sell both to wholesalers and retailers. Food business is first among equals cus Nigerians must eat food first before any other thing...indicate if you're interested so we can discuss further. You import goods into Nigeria and sell at the price they sell it here or a bit lesser.
You import from China, bring it to Nigeria, and sell, you can make millions in a month of this small business idea.

For example, if you buy sweet, chewing gum, chocolate, and other varieties of cheap edible goods from China, you buy at a very cheap price there, you bring it into Nigeria and sell at a price they sell it’s type here or sell at a price little lesser to attract customers and sell faster.
You just need to know the wants in your target environment. You don’t need more than that.
Let me give you an example.
You buy an eraser at 65 naira, and you bought 25000 pieces, 25000 times 65 naira is 1.6 million naira, 1 cbm is around 600k for sea shipping, 1 cbm is 1000 litre, half cbm will accommodate 25000 pieces of eraser, that will be 300k, 1.6 plus 300k is 2 million naira approximately, that’s for buying and logistics to Nigeria on sea.
Here in Nigeria, that eraser could be sold at 400 naira each, that’s 10 million, you can lessen it and sell at 300 naira each, that’s 7.5 million, you gain 5.5 million in 2 months.
Run social media ads, meet physical stores and discuss with them.

Analysis of the measurement
An eraser here is 3cm by 1.4cm by 0.5cm , multiply together toget volume. That’s 2.1cm cube, convert it to liter will be 0.0021 litre. If you divide 500 liter by this , you will have like 200k pieces. Which means if you have 500litre which is half cbm, you will be having like 200k pieces of eraser, so, we need something lesser, which I think 250 litre will be okay, if you use 250 litre, it will cater for everything and cost will be reduced by 150k .
Mind you, you can import any type of goods, I just use this as example.
And if you can’t afford like 2 million, you can try try lesser amount like 500k. You will still have your gain
So, you can see you don’t need much to spend, and it doesn’t take your time to do other things.

I’ve served elite clients, secured corporate deals, and most importantly, I now supply bookings to others as an agent. That’s a network you can’t buy it’s earned in the field.Now, I’m building out my own operation based on that background with one vehicle to start, and scaling from there.So I’m not just experimenting I’m replicating a model I already understand inside out.

Another i will like you to know is that this business model I’m starting with is intentionally lean. No rented office, no unnecessary costs. Our operations plug directly into high-traffic luxury hotel hubs like Eko Hotel, the same way even big players in the game operate. OP, make your guy no rush this matter. I’ve seen plenty people come back with capital, jump into one business immediately, and six months later, the whole thing don scatter because Nigeria no dey run like abroad. With ₦10M, the better move is to split the money? test smaller ventures with part of it, but keep the bigger chunk somewhere safe where it’s still growing.

One angle people don’t always consider is real estate-backed investments. You don’t necessarily need to buy a whole plot or start building from scratch. Platforms like Keble allow you to co-own properties, earn from the rental income or capital appreciation, and build up until you can take full ownership. The beauty is that your money is tied to real assets like land and homes, not just paper promises, and you’re not under pressure of daily business stress while you’re still figuring out the kind of hustle you really want to commit to.
