Bros, very sorry to hear this. There are a lot of inevitable challenges in life which we face as human at one point of our life or another. We fight mainly unseen war, which we can only win through players, constant, committed and serious ones fir that matter.

I went to school in America too and came back. We were quite many who took this daring and brave path. I won't say risky because Nigeria remains a land of so many untapped opportunities. Ask Chinese and Indians who keep thronging Nigeria and they'd tell you more.

One of the unseen battles is the foundational battle, either from maternal or paternal side. Lust for women too chase away opportunities and can make you lose focus. Let me share a friend's experience with you. In early 2000s, he won a scholarship from his state's governor to school in the UK. He was a child of nobody. He was just lucky to have been selected as the only one who applied for the particular discipline and area of interest to his state's government. The idea was for them to return and contribute their quota to the state in return. They were also allowed to go back and leave the government employment, if they wish, 3 years after they had served their state govt. Those UK universities reps came to Nigeria and had interviews and chitchat with the scholars and on-the-spot admission letters were issued to them, in line with their areas/courses applied for.

To cut the long story short, my friend's visa appointment had been scheduled, alongside other beneficiaries. Barely 4 days to the visa interview, one girl that had once turned down his request to date her surfaced. She said she just came to see him and would like to leave the following day. My friend ate her. The following day, another one, whom he had met while in the university came, one thing led to another and he slept with her.

On the day of interview, all of them participated. Only him had his application rejected. He cried like a baby and said he'd like to see me. I now told him to start praying for God's favour and stop the act. Those ladies came to cause him misfortune. They may not be ordinary. By the time the 2nd batch of his university admission was announced in the UK, he reapplied for his student visa and his visa application was approved. He fasted for days until after the interview. Today, he's a PhD holder consulting for a group of multinationals. I wouldn't want to say much. Every man knows where he fell and solution to his rising. You'd bounce back bro. Jist keep praying, believing in God and stay focused

You just energized me. Thank you so much. You kind words met me just when I needed them. My case is mysterious bro. About 95% of the people I reached out to to lift me refused. I am still confounded, I don't understand. I mean, those people were not strangers but people I bonded with very well over the years. Some even tried to exploit me. The 5% that made an attempt to help me somehow failed. Someone spoke with a sitting governor to help me, the governor gave a note, the head of the agency turned it down and nothing happened! Thanks for the encouragement

My regret is collecting loan from Palmpay app they WhatsApp me and insult all my generation for missing 2 days due date. I went to pay the money. The 2 days overdue intrest is still accumulating another overdue intrest. They said until it get to 500% before the intrest will stop. I have never seen this kind of thing in my life.. I really regret it, till I will leave this life, my ₦100 will never enter that app.

A very terrible reality. One honest guy is regretting that he does not have a house now after more than ,15 yrs cos of honest.

That protest was triggered by the Goodluck Jonathan government hiking the price of a litre of fuel from N65 to N141. Right? How much is a litre of fuel today? And why are all the so-called leaders of that protest, including the likes of GO Enoch Adeboye, Buhari, Wole Soyinka, Femi Falana, even Tinubu, all mute?

I actually had a beautiful plan. I wanted to delve into environmental science. I wanted to be a researcher. I thought I will easily get a lecturing job and proceed with my PhD. Wakkahi I somehow got stuck. There are actually things I didn't do right due to misinformation and lack of information, else I would have left a long time ago

Interesting. You were blinded by your past success. It made you ignorant to the non-existent safety net available in Nigeria. So you were just merely existing hoping that each day would get better or your former success will reflect in your personal growth and achievements. Anyways you can’t blame yourself, the environment played a major role. Now you realized time is your greatest asset. Most people never realized that even at 50. There’s still hope. How about starting a business venture? Try your luck there, it’ll be brutal at first but back to your original issue, be very aware that trying to benefit from the system (9-5, corporate jobs) you already made yourself vulnerable from the get go. Of course it does! Very few people realize it! We pray for breakthroughs everyday, but nobody wins every day, that is a fact. Then winning continuously over an extended period of time can be dangerous because it can make one complacent and careless. In a crime channel I once heard something interesting, they said when they are are going after a serial killer that has killed several victims without a trace, detectives just keep following the serial killer patiently, that at some point,the serial killers become carried away by their success and eventually become.careless, thus leaving behind a trace.

13. Drink clean water always. Eat good food. Sleep when needed. It's your health. If you can ensure your car gets sealed engine oil and better fuel for efficiency, how much more your body?

14. You don't need to lie to refuse lending money to someone; a simple "I don't have" is accurate. You don't need to attach a reason..damn it's your money!!

And it is also very necessary to collect collateral or they put it in paper. If they refuse, it's ok to let them fck off. A lot of borrowers have no conscience.

15. Avoid too many friends. If possible, avoid it completely. When your are becoming more successful, too many friends and you are closer to your grave.

16. It's not everyone you should bring to your house. This is very important.

17. Refuse binge drinking or eating outside. It's a one-way ticket to hell.

18. Ensure you know how to respond to peer pressure bullies.

19. Buy what you can afford...everything depreciates..

It's not too late to retrace your steps back to the UK,you willingly came back so it's a plus to you. All you need to do is build your home ties that can be done.Don't let anyone deceive you that age is a factor in relocating.There is this colleague of mine came from Cote de voire last year he was 54,he worked eight months with the company through an agency and finally his hard work paid off he was offered a direct job with the company.He is 55 now has a brand new car etc and honestly he is doing well.Was speaking with him yesterday and he told me how much he has saved so far.It's not too late, yesterday is gone,forget it.Live for today because it will determine how your tomorrow will be.Look forward not back.

As Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they're punched in the face. I read many people regretting studying Architecture. I'm sure they all also had a plan. Who/what inspired you to study it?

Not taking risks in my 20s. I've had a decent job since my mid twenties, when the economy was still fair and the japa movement was yet to be popular. If I was determined to leave Naija then, I would have been able to save up and leave via study route.

The painful part was that I was well informed about travelling abroad....I knew about the process and all but I wasted my time trying to get a fully funded scholarship. I pursued getting one for about 6 years of my life before I finally gave up.

Even when I got my Masters degree @29, a good age and profile for Canada express entry, I didn't make the move. A friend of mine, that we got our Masters the same time is in Canada today as a Permanent resident. He actually told me when he started the process, but I overthought the process like how will I get POF, and I didn't do anything. It was years later I got to know that POF can actually be arranged.

In my 20s, I was risk averse. I knew I wanted to leave Naija, but I wanted to go on a smooth sail. I didn't want to go abroad with uncertainties, and I missed opportunities of going abroad because of not taking risks and overtinking.

Another thing was not adapting to my career path on time. I studied Electrical Engineering, but somehow found myself in Internal Audit @ 26. I refused to adapt and chart a career in Internal Audit...I stubbornly went on trying to pursue a career in engineering. I did a Masters, got engineeering certifications like COREN, NSE and NIPE but could not land an engineeering job.

I became stuck in my career for years. I couldn't apply for senior Audit roles because I did not develop myself, I also could not land engineering roles.

But I thank God, delay is not denial. After working as an Auditor for 7 years, I decided to embrace my career as an Auditor and God gave me divine speed, I got Chartered within a year. My newly acquired qualification as a Chartered Accountant, coupled with my 8+ years as an Internal Auditor, landed me a senior role within the same industry.

I am sincerely grateful to God, because I thank God I am still young to learn from my mistakes.

My advice to the younger ones, especially those still in their 20s, do not be afraid to take risks and do not overthink anything you want to do, just start.

I have 2 regrets,dating someone for 6 years,not struggling hard to get BSC but HND.for younger folks,struggle for BSc ,forget about HND.you might loose many opportunities with HND certificate.

You're welcome. Keep praying and don't lose hope. If it's foundational problem, continue to rebuke it. Sadly, we live in a wicked society...full of witchcraft and enemies. If you don't faint, God will show you the source/cause of your predicament and proffer a solution.

There are generational problems too. The same way some people have some diseases and features traceable to their lineage or genetics, like asthma, hemorrhoids, mental issues, albinism, etc, so do people also inherit problems from generation to generation. I had a colleague back in the days. He's urhobo from delta state. He called me in the office one day and said, he's scared cos they never age beyond 40yrs and he was almost 40 then. He's way older than me but we were on same level by qualifications. I told him to keep praying and I'd also join him. He's 56yrs today. Sadly, the last born died 4yrs ago. When I saw the picture on his Facebook wall, I called my colleague, he said its her sister who never took ill for up to 2 days and died. I asked how old and he said she was preparing for her 40th birthday, just imagine. Only God knows what their forebears had done wrong which had remained a curse from generation to generation. Nobody is spared from all these generational wahala. Only God can remove it by fervently praying to Him. Unless the curse is erased, one may never see helpers. Give it a try Good luck

Truly life is designed to be beyond our scope.. I pass through experience for the past few months... Only this statement saved me from loosing my mind because I am a great and deep thinker by nature
