| Re: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by donteebalo(m): 8:55am On Apr 30, 2025 |
Mutey:One copy each, please it should be coloured oo.. not black and white o, if you have enough money to waste at the VFS photocopy centre, you can go with black and white. Also make coloured copies of ALL your passport pages. From first to last leaves. Your datapage should be 3 copies. |

Please do we still need to submit originals for Ireland visit/tourist visa application? I remember in 2022 I had to submit originals (letters, property documents, marriage certificate) at VFS along with 2 coloured photocopies. Is this still the case? |

Does the Irish embassy issue multiple entry visas to tourists? I can see the option of single entry and multiple entry on the AVATS form and I'm wondering if there are any cons to choosing multiple entry. |

MaryAndrews:Yes, they do. The only disadvantage for choosing multiple-entry is that you pay more money compared to single-entry. If your visa is approved, you will get what you paid for. Ireland charges €60 for single-entry visa and €100 for multiple-entry visa. |

| Re: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by MaryAndrews: 2:52pm On May 11, 2025 |
Please how many colour copies were collected for each document? Also, did they collect originals of documents that have original hard copies (eg marriage certificate, property documents, etc)? ========== Ashirioluwa: |
| Re: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by Ashirioluwa: 3:25pm On May 11, 2025 |
MaryAndrews:You must make a color copy of every document you want to use to support your application. Bring both the color copies and the originals to your appointment. The VFS officer will sight the original documents and then return them back to you. |

Hello Good morning everyone. I'm Joseph, and I applied for an Ireland Long Stay D- Employment Visa on the 10th of March, 14th of March it got to the Embassy of Ireland Abuja from VFS global office in Lagos. On the 16th of April, my application was refused. Find Refusal statements below: "I regret to inform you that your application for an Irish Visa has been refused by the Irish Immigration Service for the following reasons The Irish Immigration website has all of the information you will need to make an application for an Employment Visa. Before appealing this decision, please check the INIS website irishimmigration.ie to ensure you have included all of the relevant documents ID Insufficient documentation submitted in support of the application:- please see link to "Documents Required as displayed on our website www.inis.gov.iz The strength of the overall application has been diminished due to the failure to provide sufficient supporting documentation in the following areas; -Insufficient evidence submitted to demonstrate that you have the relevant qualifications/employment experience to undertake your proposed employment in the State. As per section 3 of the submitted work contract the applicant may be expected to travel as part of their employment. Insufficient evidence to how they will carry out this requirement has been submitted, Insufficient evidence of stated employment. You have submitted an employment letter provided by your stated employer however you have failed to provide any documentary evidence to substantiate its contents e.g. employment contract, Revenue documents confirming tax paid for your stated employment -As the employment in with miners no Garda vetting has been submitted. F- Finances. Evidence submitted is deemed insufficient or incomplete. -Insufficient financial documentation in respect of proposed applicant has been submitted -Lump sum lodgements in the banks accounts submitted have not been properly explained. All explanations for large or irregular lodgements should be corroborated by supporting documentation. OC:- Observe the conditions of the visa the visa sought is for a specific purpose and duration:- the applicant has not satisfied the visa officer that such conditions would be observed. - Based on a full consideration of the supporting material submitted with the application so far, the visa officer cannot yet be assured that the conditions of the visa will be fully observed. This decision can be appealed within 2 months of the date of this letter. An appeal must be submitted in writing, fully addressing all the reasons for refusal to the Visa Appeals Officer to the address shown. Appeals received by email or fax will not be processed. All additional supporting documents INCLUDING YOUR PASSPORT AND A RETURN COURIER BAG should be submitted with your appeal. If you require any original documents returned to you, please also include a photocopy of any such document. Please quote your Visa Reference Number on your appeal. Yours sincerely. Visa Section Abuja" Now, I have appealed the decision, note: the reason one and two is entirely from my employers side and my employer in Ireland has issued relevant documentation; (1). Updating the Contract of Employment that I won't be traveling around Europe in the course of my employment but will only work at one location. With other Letter they addressed to the Embassy of Ireland I attached to this. (2). As regards to Garda Vetting; this is wrongly refused because, I can only be vetted once I'm in the country not here in Nigeria. Now, My employer has initiated the process and quoted the Constitution and Section whatever whatever to them which states otherwise. But, My employer requested I get a Nigerian Police Clearance which i Have gotten and attached to my appeal. (3). Finances now; As of 21 April 2025. I sold a land my father gave ,e as an inheritance, 4,500,000 and its reflected in the new bank statements I attached to the appeal. Well; I submitted these to support my finances this time: 1. An up-to-date bank statement (October 2024 to April 2025) 2. Financial Explanation of Lump Sum Lodgements 3. Deed of Gift 4. Land sales receipt 5. Letter of Declaration from Father 6. Father’s National Identification Document 7. Father’s Retirement Letter 8. Letter of Declaration and Support from Senior Brother- This is because there are certain transfer from him 9. Copy of Brother’s Identity Document 10. Copies of Chats with transaction receipts from Senior Brother 11. POS Transaction receipt showing recent ₦51,800 purchase for senior brother 12. Christ the King International Old Student Association Contribution List and Constitution. 13. Transaction Receipts from previous coursemate and close friend. 14. Summarized Travel and Budget Plan 15. Email Proof of cost of Shared Accommodation to support previously submitted Letter on Proof of Accommodation in the initial application. My Job start date is 6th of May 2025 as stated in my Work Permit from DETE I attached the above with all other new documents and sent to the Embassy through GIG Logistics. What could be the expected time frame for my positive decision. My landlord has been waiting for me, hahahaha! |

Everything looks good. It will turn out positive InshaAllah. However, did you include a "COVER LETTER" which should contain explanations on how you have addressed all the refusal reasons. Jojo1252: |

Tips for those who plan to submit their applications at VFS soon (I know these things change from time to time, so may not be relevant after some time). They collected: 2 coloured copies of the online summary form 2 copies of the VFS questionnaire sent with your application booking confirmation email (you need to fill the questionnaire) 2 passport photographs 1 coloured copy of all other documents (including all pages of current and previous passports) 1 extra coloured copy of your current passport biodata page I showed them my originals, and they only collected originals of my passports (past and current). They didn't collect originals for the other documents this time. |
