I gave up on them after the lack lustre outing against Kenya but seems the coach did a good work on them and they played better today
Meanwhile I saw flashes of Olise today
U20 WC here we come!
Thank you for your Unbias. I know the team didnt impress most the last time but you see, I believed they will step up today.

Kudos to Aliyu Zubairu for the MF selections of Ayuma, Alabi, Oliseh. Bringing Alabi into the starting lineup brought some control and stability to the middle allowing Oliseh to foray upfront and which gave Ayuma more freedom to playmake and initiate our transitions when needed.

@Bolded... you see that Oliseh kid. He is so talented. On his day, he is a game changing player profile. Needs to work on his final balls and finishing though.

Cheers

jihday:
they are defensively solid, that’s a very good base for them but they need to work on their final balls. I think the commentator said something about Oliseh not playing again at this tournament because of the head injury/concussion
You are right in your brief assessment. We had chances in the final third that would have seen us win without the penalty lottery but our finishing let us down. Hopefully, we get better. Senegal were never going to be easy from a physical standpoint.

Oliseh, that I saw running like a mad man to go carry Harcourt. 😂😂😂 Anyway, I hope we havent seen the last of him at this Afcon because the commentator did mention such also with respect to the player Oliseh clashed with.

How did the Senegalese goalkeeper get man of the match
He kept the score goalless with some fine saves in the first half

The Two new Hoffenheim Lads, Precious Benjamin and Emmanuel Chukwu are really good. Aliyu did well adding them to the team.

Odinaka Okoro also showed today that him making the Best XI of the Group Stage is no fluke at all. The best LB at this U20 Afcon by a mile.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 4:37pm On May 12, 2025
Anyway, you have a point coz I dont understand how Senegal finished with 11 lads today. The foul on Kparobo clean through on goal and the bad foul on Okoro by a sen player already on a yellow were both not treated accordingly. The ref was soft on the senegalese shaa.

BascoVanVeli:
The match commentator disagreed with most calls the ref made today but he still made them. If that ball went in I guarantee it would have counted. All u had to do was watch the first 10 minutes of the game to know that it would

I have a question
Pls, I’d like to know
Are they all u-20
Are they using their real date of birth with authentic certificates
Were they all MRI scanned ?

I honestly think Nigeria stopped using ineligible players since the Iheanacho & Osimhen under 17 days
I hope I’m right though
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 4:41pm On May 12, 2025
To be honest, for once I agree. The Sen GK was busier than Harcourt throughout the entirety of the game. Harcourt just had the final say in the shootouts aside one or two saves all game.

This is testament to the fact that we were indeed attacking and had the better chances of killing off the game much earlier but that GK kept Sen in it.

MRI only works for U17 bruv. Not U20.

But the likes of Kparobo, Harcourt, Benjamin Precious, Chukwu, Okoro etc are definitely youngies.

Another player that impressed me today is #21 Maigana. Damn that lad get raw attacking drive and interestingly quick feet. A decent talent who needs the right nurture.

Victor Osimhen usually gets tired from the 81st minute
Super Eagles coach should take note by always refreshing the squad with a sharp striker at that point

I hope some of those boys get signed by Espérance, Al Ahly etc
Not all will get to Europe
They better improve in the semis
It shouldn’t get to stalemate penalties like it did against Senegal
Primary objective achieved
Was Eric Chelle @ the stadium ?

Nerdie, this Divine Oliseh of Forster Academy who played with the No 13 shirt ehhh. As much I appreciate his talent and skill, I think the guy plays to the gallery, holds the ball for too long, falls down at the slightest touch. poor shot at goal...Ahhhhhh. His game tire me today. I hope he improves.

Lol. The lad excites and frustrates in equal measure but we can all see the boy has got huge game changing talent. I hope his growth curve sees these negatives of his game sharpened and turned into positives.

If his development goes right and his game sharpens as expected, he could become an African version of Eden Hazard (what some of my folks are calling him on twitter/X) lol

First time watching him and I agree with this. He could be so much better if he'd add more IQ

What will it benefit us?

Ghana 2-2 Egypt. ET up next too
Last min penalty after Egyptain karate and rugby in the box. Lol

Meanwhile SLE #20, Samba Bah did the most ridiculous handball at the U20 Afcon so far. Almost cost SLE the game before regulation time was over. Luckily for him, he committed the foul inches outside the box but unluckily he wss red carded. SLE enter extra time with 10 men

Imagine doing this after scoring just your first penalty and still crashing out. Lol

The Egyptian second choice GK got into Antwi's head after this incident and saved Ghana's 2nd pen. Lol
