The companies were sold to entrenched interests across party line.
Just months into sale , FG has to bail them out financially for between 10 - 20 % share
Companies that were supposed to bring in money to invest o
They were supposed to invest in meters only for them to turn round and start asking customers to fund the purchase of meters and government backed them.

I'm happy that the electricity sector unions didn't allow the sale to take place until all entitlements were paid the workers , if not , they would still be fighting for their allowance now 10 years after

Good. I see FG took my comment and are exploring changes based on it. The investors that bought this business either add value through reinvestment or they sell it to capable company’s. We cannot continue to spend money on these people. If they are confused about how to run an electricity business, they should be made to sell. They need to be highly regulated and very closely monitored. Such a business provides service that is critical to the success of the nation. There should be serious accountability and transparency. This is not a piggy bank type of business at all.

How about Government parastatals owing discos millions.

Good development, but accountability is important, people should be held accountable, once contract are approved and payment made, value should be given to the people, the minister is responsible to ensure contract are executed and results achieved, the nation have been shortchanged for too long, too much leakages and waste, it must end. The EFCC should go after those responsible for payments for the NNPCL refineries repairs...this is economic sabotage, billions of dollars...

Long overdue. That sector is filled with cabals like the oil sector. They are becoming a cash cow swallowing money and nothing to show for it.

Band A is great, but the bill is crazy. Na people's annual house rent I dey use pay monthly bills for light, and solar system is not efficient for egalitarian consumption.
