Dear All, I am a first time traveller and was able to book appointment for Lagos for 08th August, 2025. However, my proposed travel date is 28th August. Hope this is not risky considering the time for processing and departure date? |

@diehard... Could you please share the documents you submitted..Are we required to bring the originals of all the documents we are submitting? Are we making 2 copies of each document? Please share your experience to guide us. Thank youuuu. quote author=diehard post=135338741]I finally submitted my application today and saw the racket TLS is pulling on people. For example, your passport pix is not bright enough, and you'll pay them to retake it. There are errors in your application, and we can help you correct it. That's 12k and so on.....[/quote] |

If your passport is not best, they can advise you sir to retake it. It is still in your interest because visas can be rejected for attaching a wrong passport size. They have specifications. So worryless about the 12k, and pray that your application succeeds. Goodluck diehard: |

hunee:I think the retaking of passport pix is redundant cos they will still take a photo of you during the biometrics which will be lodged in their system and it's this pix that will be used to track you when you travel, except they are looking for any reason just to deny people. |

LadyCaplin:I submitted the following docs; banks statement (foreign and local), cover letter, insurance, dud flight and accommodation booking, current and past visas, data page of my passport, letter of recommendation from my employer and salary package. Docs from kids schools. My kids birth certificate, marriage certificate, Land documents from govt. They don't need original but I made coloured photocopies of my docs. Does anyone have a clue of what happened to all these documents we submit to these embassies? Scammers can easily get a hold of our documents for bad purposes. So be careful for what you submit to these people. |

diehard:These criteria has been long standing. When you enrol at the university for a degree online, you also file an application through the administrative block of the department. During this process, you affix your passport photograph on your documents. The biometrics is an advancement, the paper is for archiving. Anything can happen to your online documents, the one you submit is a backup. So put it in that context and relate it together. Goodmorning. |

Thank you for your response. You raised a valid question regarding the final "resting" place of the documents submitted. I do hope they are destroyed properly or filed appropriately. I wish you a successful outcome. diehard: |

firebreather:Are you saying the applicant should make 2 copies each of his documents? That's too much is this part of their requirement? And what will they be doing with 2 copies each? Which documents in particular should be done 2 copies? |

Arymed777:This is not even up to the minimum required 15 days. And for a first timer, I'll advise to have at least 30 days between your submission and travel date. Better change your travel date if you've not submitted the France visa application form. But if you've submitted it already, I think I read above in this thread that some people called TLS asking if they can change their travel date on the printed form and they got a positive response that they can change. Not so sure, so check well in the thread or call TLS yourself. |

firebreather:Yeah the same thing happened to me. My travel date was so close to the appointment date. The good news is that you can make changes of your date, hotel and flight at the visa center. They may charge 12k for it. |

Labelle:For you to know that they read reviews on public platforms. I posted this few weeks ago when I was talking about need to confirm availability of appointments to serve as guide for filling application forms. In totality, the essence of this , is to assuage concerns of statutory processing time which is about 3 - 4 weeks. Take it into consideration, anytime you alter your documents or as the case maybe, effect changes at the center in Adeola Odeku, or Abuja, you are also going to change dates on your personal, company , maybe insurance letters too. So be guided and always plan ahead. The embassy of France or TLS needs to develop a webpage as that of VFS whereby you book appointment (to get a date) before you fill forms , this in turn gives a guide to plan your submission in accordance with processing times. Goodluck. |

auxtin1:You need one copy of all your documents. Not two copies. For bank statements, you don't need any copy. Just the original. Same thing if you are submitting an introduction letter or payslips from your office or company. Only originals are required. |

Arymed777:It is close. The major issue is the expensive ticket you will buy... |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Cashmadam: 10:53pm On May 13, 2025 |
diehard:They are filed. I read somewhere that the documents are retained for certain years and then destroyed. We really can't do much about the documents. I believe they are careful with them. Besides, these days, scammers don't need a lot of documents to do anything... |

Cashmadam:. The only 2 copies you need to have is your bio data page. You will need 2 copies. For everything else 1 copy will suffice. |

Hi guys, I filled an application form and mistakenly submitted without booking an appointment. When I went to book the appointment, the available days were past my intended travel date in June. I started another application with August as travel date. I was able to book an appointment for this new application and submitted it. The issue is that I now have 2 applications submitted to the center with 1 appointment. Will this be an issue? |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Labelle(f): 11:10pm On May 13, 2025 |
hunee:I called TLS first, they stated non-significant changes can be made at the center. It's a common request. I submitted my docs today with no issues at all. I had to change my dates because the only available appointment dates were too close to my travel date. It's a common issue. I didn't have to change the details of my travel insurance as this already reflected the new date. |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Labelle(f): 11:13pm On May 13, 2025 |
maziemeka2024:This is the problem we are all facing, call TLS tomorrow and ask them about your situation, call before 9am so you won't have to wait for long. But from my experience, no need to fill a new form if you want to change your dates. They change it for you at the center. But you must leave at least 30 days between date of submission and travel date. |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by hunee: 11:18pm On May 13, 2025 |
Labelle:You could reschedule for "one time" only either by calling call center or DYI. I agree this can be done prior to your submission But you see the changes and modifications allowable at the point of submission is a new feature offered by TLS at the center and the whole 12k talk. They are responding to feedbacks for better service. Thank you. |
