I have led teams, projects, both in Nigeria, across sub Sarah africa and the US… even though I’m barely clocking 30… I have managed teams with people old enough to be my uncles and aunties. I am speaking with experience and not just emotional sentiments.
Information management to the public is a very important skill leaders should have. Not everything is public apologies. That public apology may cost you more harm than good… there are times you use public apologies but use it wisely…
The damage already done, the way they handled it made it worse

Worst of all, listing some certain states knowing how volatile the Nigerian system is and how people are quick to politicize and tribalize every little thing.

In critical decision making, picking between two tough decisions…. you think it thoroughly and look at the long term effect of your decisions… make an apology now and lose an entire public trust over the years and future??

There are better ways to have gone about this… you could have called for a second jamb for everyone in later part of the year…. Something like second chance maybe in July to write jamb due to mass failure… The pubic will praise you for your goodness, and you internally deal with the situation and punish who needs to be punished… win win situation..

Now you tarnish your image, public trust!!! Worst of all bringing opportunities for people to start a tribal argument over nonsense

And the crazy thing is glitch or no glitch… many kids will still fail… now they all have the perfect excuses

The truth is that the affected students have be wronged. The emotional and psychological trauma they faced has to be recognised. If you ever wrote jamb, then you should relate.

Again, how about the cost incurred for the jamb by the students: financial cost, time and effort.

So, does it make sense to ask these students to pay to resit the exam? Does it even make sense for Jamb to contemplate asking these students to pay to resit?.

In all honesty, Jamb was definitely wrong and should bear all the blame. Be that as it may, allocating 300 marks isn't the way forward. It will definitely have ripple effect on the admission across all universities.

Therefore, the DG Prof Ishaq Oyedele should be blamed,not Head of IT Fabian Okoro.
