Stop talking nonsense. 2 units of their currency. So why are they not earning 250,000 units of their currency monthly?

The price of that should be benchmarked against the average salary there.
The difference is in the value of currency. That same amount is less than 2pounds in the UK. If all currencies were are measured at par, that will be 2 units of the Nigerian Naira and it's not like our currency was never at par but greedy leaders and politicians destroyed the naira. So don't blame or insult any for that. Those in the UK, one penny still count for something. In Nigeria, our naira is so useless that nobody even spends 100 or 200 naira any more. Coins doesn't even exist. They locked away in vaults never to see the light of day. So the guys reply is spot on.

A certain man in Nigeria once discovered this and decided to export coke and others to the UK ,only to get be told in UK that he can't taket those thing into the UK. Take reason was that come sold in the UK and Nigeria are of different standard. If I may ask, does the coke over there tastes same way as the one here ?

What is the % of the price of coke with respect to the minimum wage vs that of Nigeria?

You don't compare apple to orange when you haven't linearized them, this nonsense comparison without recouse to the minimum wage and purchasing power of those climes is meaningless. You can do better

Read about a case some few years back, a man bought coca-cola in quantities and shipped abroad, thinking of the profit he's going to make, when the consignment got to the designated country, it was shipped back to Nigeria , declaring it unfit for human consumption. so the man sued coca-cola bottling company. The following conversation took place
Prosecutor:Why did you produce a substandard product for me to export, there by making me to lose my resources.
Defendant:we never knew you wanted to export it, the drinks we produce in Nigeria is made for Nigerian market and not for export.
So you see, the coca-cola might look same but not the same quality. Mind you this really happened in Nigeria, it's no fiction .
I know of the case. If Nigerians are serious they suppose ask questions. But nigerians love their oppressors

Exactly . The painful thing was that coca cola still won the case. Thank God I don't drink those things that are not fit for human consumption. They are only fit for animal consumption. . Nigeria government still allow them to continue producing things not fit for human consumption In the UK in Nigeria. Kidney liver issues everywhere . That would have been enough reason to stop drinking those poison.

Here are the reasons why Coke is more expensive in Canada: Cost of labour, sales tax/provincial tax/VAT, property tax/rent, extra payroll tax and the fact that the minimum wage in Canada is higher than that of Nigeria. And also Nigerian Coke is most likely substandard.

DeZoro:
I entered a mall in Toronto to.buy coke and the amount will amaze you. Two dollar and forty nine cent ($2.49).

Using the price of 50cl Coke in Canada versus Nigerian which is about Four Hundred naira (N400), I am suspecting that the ingredients are different combination. It means the Coke sold in Nigeria malls and shop are adultereted or of less ingredients.

I have attached the receipt of the Coke for verification in case you doubt..

The coke here is rubbish compared to the ones produced elsewhere. I don't even drink it anymore because I can't understand the taste. Total rubbish yet the price keeps increasing because of our useless tissue paper currency.

100% lies. Which country will allow you bring in goods that will interfere with the ones in their markets? They will be sizes at the airport if he landed with them. If he intended to ship them in, did he get an import licence? If he got a licence and paid all the import duties on the goods, there's no way he can sell it cheaper

No lie than market value. You think
it's easy to take a mega cooperation

to court? Those that successfully did had solid cases and the funds to follow through. The story is pure fiction
No lie there , the case was in court for years and coca cola eventually won. Based on Nigeria standard , it was fit for human consumption so they produced it for Nigerians and not for the UK. They are not the one that told Nigeria to have poor standard.

I don't think coca-cola won the case.
I think the man later won the case after 34years.
It was then that it was brought to the public notice that the benzoic and addictive in coke produce in 9ja is very high that it is injurious to health and that is only after the UK authorities tested the coca-cola shipped in from 9ja and made the findings.

What is percentage of N400 of N5,000 and what is percentage of 2.49 dollars of 80 dollars?

Underrated comment. I saw someone above saying $2 is just 2 units of their currency and many people are agreeing with him, only a wise person will compare that price to their minimum wage.

The minimum wage in Canada ranges from $15 to $17.78, so let's just use $15. Assuming a person worked 40 hours a week, that will be a monthly salary of $2400, so a price of Coke ($2.49) is just 0.104%. meanwhile in Nigeria, minimum wage is ₦70k, so that's 0.714% of the monthly salary, and many people even earn below that. So, we are actually spending 7x more on Coke than Canadians, that's how to do purchasing power analysis, not the crazy comparisons many of them are doing here
