I got a cooked cob of corn 🌽 yesterday evening from a friend. However, I decided to take it home cos it was too cold. Then I developed another plan.

I roasted it then snapped it into two to make two baits! 🧠 Sharp!

There are different kinds of rats, some can be eaten and some will make you sick. The common gutter and house rats - Rattus Rattus, are dirty and are not safe to eat as they carry diseases. The one the OP is preparing is called a Gambian Pouched Rat. Some people call it rabbits but they are more in the family of chipmunks and squirrels as they have pouches in their mouths they use in carrying food. They eat clean things like corn, rice, cassava, yam and so on... They are eating in almost every part of Africa and are also used as pets and mine detectors. Some don't eat it because of where they live sometimes, those that live far from humans are cleaner and live in burrows in bushes. Those that live near humans can live in burrows, pile of blocks, uncompleted buildings, anthills and broken septic tanks. So, in summary, they are edible.

I read the entire 3 pages of this thread and not a single ethnic insult, no mention of wether eating rats was an NW or SW or NE or SE or SS or NC things.
No one called any one out as the reason why the op is eating rats. No one mentioned any politician or politics.

This is why i will bever buy food in a local store... if it isn't a reputable restaurant, I will rather eat a home.... yhank goodness I don't have poor friends , even if I did , I will never eat at their place .... another reason why I only buy chicken in restaurant, not meat
