Use six months bank statement. Let your Proof of Funds be in the bank account before the beginning of the 1st month of the Six months.

1. The money from sales of property has to be in the account for 3 - 6 months before applying. (Applies to other sources of funds too) i.e. proof of funds, if it dips due to forex, top it up and put an explainer in your cover letter.

2. They want evidence of where you got the money for tuition and living costs where X - tuition fees and Y - NZ$25,000 for 120 units/1 Year or NZ$35,000 for 180 Units / 18 months. So if the money is in your account for 3 - 6 months, they will overlook sales of property as source of income (there are other sources of income)

3. Jeje just look for a 120 units course to do that is relevant to work experience and/or first degree or if you are doing a career change. (your cover letter or SoP will need to justify this). Doing a 120 units course removes the need for a funding plan letter for the remainder of your program for instance.

4. You can submit any currency statement account (NGN, USD, GBP, EURO, NZ$ etc.), but they said it is recommended to use one bank statement for ease of authenticaion.

You can pay school fees from another account and then show 6months for pof.

They do give funding to anyone irrespective of your Nationality once you meet the criteria, many have a published paper in a reputable journal.

I have a Nigerian in my school who is on Scholarship. When I applied for mine, it was not successful, the main reason was no publications.

So work towards paper publication and have a good grade in your Masters, you will get it.

Lastly, subsidising PhD fee to around NZ$7k is a scholarship on its own.

I have no published papers but have MSc Merit from 🇬🇧 do I stand a chance

INZ allows funds from multiple accounts and banks, as long as the source and history are clear and traceable. What matters most is:

That each account shows a consistent transaction history (ideally 6 months).

You can explain the source of each deposit (especially large ones).

You provide bank statements for each account used in your visa application.

If you want to consolidate for ease of presentation, that’s fine—but it’s not compulsory, and consolidating too close to your visa application date may even raise questions about fund origin.

Immigration NZ assesses total financial capacity, which includes:

Funds already used (like school fees paid).

Funds currently held (like living expenses, travel).

Yeah, in New Zealand there's no age limit, but you know things can change especially if they notice certain trends.

I save part of my funds through crypto, as i am paid partly in cryptocurrencies . all the invoice are available. my worry now is with Nigeria's tight policy towards cryptocurrencies and P2P.

These are not issues currently with New Zealand Digital asset rules. however, i don't know if the rules in Nigeria will affect. There are no traditional bank channels to renumerate crypto earnings to banks so the only way is to use P2P Merchants and online BDC guys.

Will this explanation pass fit? there is consistent inflow monthly into my bank accts as you stated, but from different P2P Merchants.

For the savings, i started saving in crypto because of Naira's crazy up and down movement.

Yes, New Zealand Immigration can accept crypto-related income, as long as:

You can show a clear, traceable link between work done and payment received.

You can prove the conversion of crypto into fiat and how it lands in your bank.

You provide sufficient documentation: invoices, contracts, wallet screenshots, bank inflow records, etc.

Note: NZ Immigration cares more about transparency and stability of your finances, not the fact that crypto is involved.

Not directly, but they will affect how you present your Proof of Funds (POF).

Here’s why:

INZ only accepts funds that are "readily available" and "legally accessible" to you.

Nigerian banks do not permit direct crypto-to-bank transfers, so you rely on P2P or BDC routes, which are unofficial and untraceable in a banking/legal sense. (This is my opinion, I may be wrong especially with the way Nigerian policies on Crypto keep on changing)

It is either you have home ties or you don't, mind you, if you are successful, you will still have to maintain the same "fixed" home ties in all applications going forward. Say for example, its only parents one has as a home tie, one can say one is responsible for the well-being of said parents and that's home tie. Like someone once said, you can never forget the truth but you must always remember the lie. Cheers.

Yes I used agent from New Zealand and agent from IDP. I Sabi their trick reason i used both agent to review my sop and application.

Don't mind them. That's the default reason they slammed my other guys too. Same 6 reason. And this is the 2nd time I'm applying. Omo na to move forward.

The truth of the matter is if you are applying a second time, best to work with a paid License Immigration Adviser based in New Zealand that’s the advise the Indians give - these guys will tell you upfront whether you should pocket your application money or try again, after you’ve paid them, of course.
