I work where I come across old people....
Mehn I don't want to grow old....

As long as I fulfill purpose and attain destiny....

Not all old people are suffering. What one should be praying for is been financially comfortable at old age, and you can only get that from young age. Many rich old people today have been rich from young age, and they multiplied what they earn from that time on. May God help us all, because it’s one thing to be old, I’d another to be old and poor.

What will money do for you at old age? Because chances are you'll still be alone and lonely with your money while your children and grandchildren will be too busy with their own lives to make time for you.

They'll be just waiting to hear news of your demise so that they can benefit from your life insurance and inherit your assets.

Who told you, you’d be lonely at old age when you have money? Haven’t you seen how people (old and young) rally around old rich people? If you have money at whatever age, you can never be lonely. There is always something fun to do with money regardless of the age. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise

When you're from a disadvantaged background, of course you'll see money as everything... But once you have it, you'll then realise that it's nothing, it can never buy you happiness.

You don't know what's happening to that person behind closed doors.

The bottom line is for you to serve God genuinely and make money when you're young and energetic.

I was thinking towards my retirement over the weekend and I realised that for me to enjoy at old age without suffering, I need to save 20million every year for 15yrs.

That would get me close to #900million if I maintained consistency.

That is when invested & compounded @15% interest rate,I shall enjoy at last. Then,I would be 57.

Old age is imminent and must come...except for those who have been destined to die early.
Re: Old Age by brain54(m):
I have always thought same...

Infact, I have a phobia for old age. I can't remember what it's called now.

Not being strong enough to do those things one was capable of at a younger age etc.

I used to say I never wanted to live beyond 60. But I guess it's okay to live very old if one is in good health and strong enough to cope with it.

I saw a picture of Denzel Washington recently Still looking young and strong at over 70. Atiku, Trump and some other examples still look strong at over 80.

So it depends on our definition of old age because they are also examples of people who look unhealthy and are not dependent on care from others at 50 or 60 years.

So I guess it depends on health. If I am strong and capable of taking care of myself at over 100 then I don't mind old age.

But if not God should just take me at 50 if I wouldn't enjoy my peace in good health at an older age!

Old age comes with a lot of problems and living with old people is really difficult. Dementia, Alzheimer disease, all kinds of sickness, slowness. Old people are also very troublesome especially to their caregivers. I'm currently dealing with one and it's not easy at all. That's why I wonder how all these Nigerians that are doing care giver work in UK cope? Living with an old person is like having a child. The difference is children grow up and become independent meanwhile, old people get older and become more dependent so you are never free. Old age plus sickness is the worst.

My mother had to take my grandmother to an old age home after two years of her living in our home... That old lady is something else and it's like the older they get, the more they become aggressive and dislike bathing... grin grin grin... Getting her to bathe on a daily basis was a piece of work.

I also once watched a video of a white elderly lady giving her caregiver hard slaps for trying to bathe her... grin grin grin

So this bathing issue is a general thing!!! My grandmother takes her bath every morning and she is in her 90's but the one I'm with hates bathing. Plus they will say something now and then won't remember they were the same persons that said that same thing. That thing causes confusion and quarrels. It takes the grace of God to live with old people for a long time. No wonder the westerners have old people's homes.

Lol old age is a must for everybody and it's a blessing. If you don't want to get old, better die now.
Case close.
Re: Old Age by SmartPolician:
Growing old is a beautiful thing as you see the world evolve and pass your knowledge/advice to the young generation.

The best way to enjoy old age is to have a proper retirement plan, not depending on your children to take care of you when you are old.

Money can never buy happiness or real love

But it is the only thing that will make life easier for you

Nothing else works

A rich man of 75 is never the same as a poor man of 75 the differences very clear in health and appearance. That rich man may even have a young girl by the side because he definitely looks younger and has means
Re: Old Age by IyaTola: 2:05pm On May 28, 2025
Aging can look like suffering, especially when it's marked by loneliness, regret, or poor health—but it doesn’t have to be. The real issue isn’t age itself, but how we age. If you live with purpose, care for your body and mind, build strong relationships, and fulfill your destiny, you can grow old with grace and dignity. Don’t fear old age—prepare for it by living intentionally now. Aging becomes painful when life is lived without direction; but with purpose, it becomes a crown, not a curse.
