You don't know what's happening to that person behind closed doors.

I think you're looking at it from another point. The person you replied to is only trying to make you understand the importance of money in ones life, especially during old age. Money is not everything, I agree strongly, but money can give comfort, money can make people smile, money can engender speed, money can help solve health issues especially for oldies etc. Old age is a period where people don't need to work hard or stress themselves to make a living, is a season of rest, you eat and relax from your youthful labour over the years. But how can one rest during old age when you have no finance to feed and relax from? You'll start depending on children for help, it doesn't make sense at all.
Sometimes when I see how some people especially aged people die because of common sickness that can be treated with small money, I'll just shake my head in pity.

In conclusion, money is not everything but money is important to the life of every individual be it young or old.

His point is quite clear and understood.
From your point of view, it’s also understood but there is a chance you’ll have a better old age when you have money than when you don’t.

You can employ someone to care for you and you pay them. With money you can take a few trips that your age can allow you to but compared to someone that is poor financially!

You are kidding, right? Your children and grandchildren will NEVER be too busy for you if you have money and they need money! grin

Besides, the greatest joy of money is NOT spending it on yourself. That doesn't bring joy (ask people who won the lottery). The greatest joy of money is giving it - being in position to give it without worry it'll run out

From the outside they LOOK that way but most important part of life happens inside. Notice how people spend so much on drugs and alcohol to feel a certain way. Suppose an old person has come to point where they feel that way naturally, though looking wretched from outside?

Old age is not about wrinkles or dementia, it can actually be a really cool, fulfilling and happy period of life and it is something every young person should look forward to(unless you prsy to die young)

Think about the deep wisdom you will have gathered from your experience ls with people and yourself. You will be a wisdom bank.

Plus you will have more free time, no pressure of children or career. You will have the opportunity to dice into hobbies you love, travel tonplaces you always dreamed of or simply spend quality time with your spouse and grandchildren.

Old age can also bring a strong sense of peace and accomplishment. You can look back at everything you have navigated a d feel proud.

You can connect with young people at a deeper level, share your stories and be a dependable guide to them.

Old age is not an end rather it is an interesting chapter of life with lots of unique joys and different kinds of awesome experiences.

However, if you're young, it is time to begin to cultivate your old age by:

Regular exercise, balanced diet

Financial planning

Investing in meaningful relationships

Lifelong learning.

To say the truth, growing old can be scary, but it's just a stage as this life is temporary.

I don't mind growing old as long as I fulfill my destiny. Nothing sweeter than living a destiny fulfilling life on earth.

The bottom line is for you to serve God genuinely and make money when you're young and energetic.

That is still not enough for a heathy aging.Every now and then,we read of people that slump and die in places of worship mainly because of bad health. Exercise is key for longevity and it does not require much money or religious beliefs.

Lagos — Pension teachers in Lagos State under the aegis of Teacher Pensioners of Nigeria (TEPAN) have urged Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to review his stance on paying the harmonised three year old outstanding pension allowance or risk losing their votes.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of TEPAN, Mr. Ayodabo 'Lade, accused Tinubu of failing to pay the arrears to teachers on their correct pension grade since the year 2000, contrary to what was obtainable in other five States of the South-west controlled by the Alliance for Democracy (AD).
