Weep Not Child and The River Between are his two prominent books dealing with the historical and legendary uprising in Kenya. Ngugi Wa Thiongo popularly writing under the name James Ngugi is the greatest African acclaimed author after Soyinka and Achebe. He was indeed African literary giant. Salute and Rest in peace great father of Africa.

That Ogboju Ode ninu igbo irunmole was one of my Yoruba textbook along with Alawiye. It featured the story of a day old baby god by the name of Ajantala. I didn't read it much because the yoruba grammar it was written in was too much for me.

Yeah... Soyinka is among the last of the old guard of brilliant and gifted writers.

I fear this generation might never live up to their golden standard.

To make matters worse, the reading culture is fast fizzling out.

Only wasteful minds call buying books or reading them a waste because no knowledge is a waste.I met a lawyer in the bid of promoting reading culture and she referred to buying physical books to read as a waste.But the fact is,how many people today in Nigeria successfully read online for a long time without distractions from pop-up adverts, messages, notifications and the Likes?Great knowledge are hidden in the foliages of books.
