Hi guys,

I did oil change service when my car mileage was at 142,158 KM and currently at 144,201 KM. I got a dash notice that oil change service required. I did oil life reset the last time I carried out the last service though.

This is just less than 1500 Miles na, abi the brain box deh whyne me ni. Some people own even deh do over 5500 miles

Ford edge 2011. The slap on my butt is that my engine oil check dipstick is stucked, I just believe this is not true, abi synthetic oil get life grade ni. This was my first Naija oil change I bought and this is happening so fast

It's nor.al with 1994 opel omega.

My alternator is charging bcuz it keeps starting until I park it for a while but if I remove the battery terminal and come back after hours and fix it back,the vehicle will start up immediately
So I don't know what is running down the battery when I don't remove the terminal

Using a digital multimeter, check battery voltage, then revert back.


You may also wish to check and clean the ground cable and the location where it mounts to the body of the car with a sandpaper. W164 are also known for degrading the wires of the battery and alternator for reasons I don't know. I've had to fix these in over 7 units of W164 over the years.

From experience ensure that the trunk closes well. There is an electric padded like switch you press to lift up and close the trunk. Sometimes that switch malfunctions and usually have a mind of its own. Check that. You also need to carry out a parasitic drain test. Good luck

Most times I have issues with my clutch either the upper one or the lower one. I use Mazda 626 millennium boot....what can I do so that such problem won't keep recurring? Thanks

The trunk switch is not even working again so I only open manually from inside nd close with a bang
There are too many electrical engineering in that vehicle and it's making it malfunction seriously

I parked the vehicle for some weeks and today I took it to the mechanic. He immediately said it's fuel pump, bought fuel pump, same thing, he said it's plug, i bought new plugs and cleaned the nozzles, same thing. He used his scanner and said the scanner saw nothing, that we would continue tomorrow.. I feel it's a small issue but I'm tired of the trial and error. Please who has an idea what could cause it? After firing the car for a while, it's less noticeable.. Location is egbeda lagos

Did you scan that car?
I bet it's the throttle position sensor that is misaligned or failing.

Kexus rx car triping off. Its not fuel pump or plugs. One of your coils is bad,there is a cut wire somewhere coming in contact with the chasis. Go to a rewire,or on the car by 9pm,open the engine bay,look for a spark while engine is on and everywhere is dark. Its a rewire work. Thats why i hate mechanics,even with a scanner,the fool still cant do shi t. Na rewire work and im suspecting a bad air flow sensor,bad engine timing bad coils bad fuel,bad engine oil..

Many things could be responsible

Recently, my Toyota matrix 2005 drives fine when cold, idles well, exactly at 1. But immediately the engine warms up, it always stalls and rpm drops and dies when I'm at a check point or in traffic. I have to put it in neutral so it doesn't die on me. No hard starts, it accelerates well etc but just dies in traffic when hot. On rainy days when the engine doesn't really heat up, it drives so well you'll think theres no problems. Please what could be wrong. Someone suggested i change my fuel pump assembly but its sold for 90k and i cant blindly gamble that amount without knowing if it would fix the problem

Your scanner says it's got 7 codes. Get a better scanner and run the scan again pls.


But from the little info you posted, the cylinder 2 coil is bad and needs replacement. Before replacing it, swap coils, clear codes, and drive then rescan again.


Your engine is nit properly timed. Was thus engine timing opened and worked upon at anytime previously?

Yes have another competent mechanic check its timing and correct it.

Ps. Replace the timing chain tensioner. It can fail if mishandled or if not retracted properly, so change it all together. Check the cam sprockets, if it's welded, replace it.

What's the best way to clean and degrease underneath of my engine bay?

Y'all know how the Honda K24 engine are know for having different leaks from different gaskets... Mine is just like that, it's so bad that the underneath is full with grease. I want to try clean it so i can start monitoring it to know where the leaks are coming from.. The local kazeems around me aren't making it easy for me. They are just guessing. That's why I'm taking matters to my hands

Go to a less busy alignment shop that has a car wash,drive into it,tell the car wash to defrease using steam from underneath

Go to a less busy alignment shop that has a car wash,drive into it,tell the car wash to defrease using steam from underneath

About the jerk when you engage Gear
From my little experience of using a car, i noticed people don't make use of handbreak while parking their car, they just move the car from D to P which is bad and that's the cause of the jerk. I don't know the solution to that cos even my car does that and some other cars I've driven.
But here's what i do. Whenever you want to park your car, With your foot still on the break, Put the car on N, engage the Parking break, remove your legs from the break to allow the car rest on the parking breaks then shift gear to park. If you do this as i mentioned, you'd notice that the next time you shift thr gear from P to R/D. You won't notice the Jerk.

The Jerk is caused because the car weighs is resting on the Gear which in time has an effect on the gear and sometimes even do more damages to it. Try this and let me know if it works

My 08 Corolla speedometer and RPM is not reading, the gear handle only shifts when shift lock bottom is pressed. It does not communicate with scanner

You need a highly skilled electrician to check your electrical systems. It's not a remote job.

It could be your alternator draining the battery while the car is off. My guy's 09 Corolla has same issue, we changed the battery and visited few rewire, and they kept recommending him to do kill switch which i refused.
We got a third opinion and the guy checked the alternator and said it's drawing power even while the car is off. Took it somewhere to fix it and installed it back. That was the end of the issue.

So I tried this but it didn't work. Before now, an electrician assessed the car and suggested that I might have to test another brain box on the car.

Is it possible that a faulty wiring could cause this jerking?
