Dessers has scored 4 goals in 8 games (if you count the unofficial game against Algeria). Yet, Boniface has nothing to show for his superior number in appearance.
With his performance yesterday, I think Dessers has moved higher than Boniface in the pecking order..

Dessers should absolutely be at the AFCON

I just want to clarify something. A lot of people are disrespecting Victor Boniface a lot, like a lot.

As far as the Super Eagles is concerned, Boniface will always be called up, he deserves it, he's consistent in goal scoring for his club and we are supposed to invite players based on how good they are for their clubs before we can see how it translates to the national team, Boniface isn't the one hindering Cyriel Dessers' call up, Sadiq Umar, Kelechi Iheanacho - these are the two that should sit out Nigeria's national team's roster.

As it stands, I'll pick Dessers to always start over Boniface until he starts scoring but I'll not stop calling Boniface up as long as he is on top form in his club. Against Russia, he'll likely start, we'll see how he'll do against an European opponent, I don't think he has what it takes to play ijaball, but once it's a technical aspect or against opponents you need to beat with technicality and not brute strength, I think he'll flourish.

I repeat, Dessers is obviously the ideal backup for Victor Osimhen, but it doesn't mean he should replace Boniface, even with limited playing time this season, Boniface has more goals than Iheanacho and Sadiq Umar combined. Those are the people that shouldn't be called up again.

I wonder the rationale behind calling up Sadiq and Kelechi in the first place..
Like what do they really offer?

Considering the tempo of the game, the introduction of Iheanacho was a school boy error.
What was needed was a genuine midfielder, who can win duels and slow down the game with good controls of the ball.
which sub was better, Iheanacho, moses or Musa. From the yesterday match, Iheanacho sub seems better than the other two. Moses came try to dribble the whole team as if he's Messi, after that he disappeared.

Nothing bruh, especially Sadiq...
Iheanacho has done well for the Super Eagles, coaches should just let him rest. We have crazy forwards in world football, let the old ones that are not offering anything calm down.

This man is trying to cook a beastly squad, I see what he's doing, and I like that he believes that he can pull it off, but the players wey I dey see... Omo.

Na against Jamaica we go see something, those guys are speedsters and only Chelle's kind of philosophy will work against a team like that, what if we play Japan, South Korea, Spain? Still this same kind of football will work, speed, running, speed, running...

But make them tell am say no be Iheanacho, Musa and Sadiq Umar go "run" am for am.

These players wey u mention so no fit play for chelles system…even the ones wey we feel say dem sabi run 🏃,gas out for second half eg onyeka

I will advise him dt if he’s doesn’t find d right personal for his style he wants the team to play ,he shld adjust and adopt a style dt will suit our players profile we have b4 its too late(Goke7 advice) cos I am still in d offing eying d job 😎

But if he can pull it off,we will be a big menace to any team in d world cos dis style of play will always create loads of problems and chance to score the ppponents. We could av killed off st yday game by 4-nil in first half if we had converted our chances

I am the guy you're referring to, and I said what I said with my full chest..

And yes, that's clearly not our B team, same for Ghana
If we are talking B Team, you won't see the likes of Igoh Ogbu, Sodiq Ismaila, Papa Daniel, Alimi and even Dessers

These guys won't start in our A team or B team

Also, the Ghanaian team had 4-5 debutants, according to the commentator yesterday..
What does that tell you?

You know what I'm saying is true, but then agenda must agend..

The players called up for the Russia friendly are closer to our A/B team

The intensity with which his teams start and Gas out in the later stages. The Zimbabwean coach also mentioned it after the game that he knew it would be difficult for the Nigerian team to maintain such intensity up till the later stages of the game and he exploited it.
And this is in sharp contrast to Nigerian team of old used to okay. We were a second half team up till Rhor's reign.
