A certain nairalander by the name "Johnny don22” and created a topic and asked the question on the screenshot thread below .
The question goes like this
" would you prefer a world wgere religion dies not exist at all ?"

I found it interesting and decide to take it a step further .

I think lordreed is one of the atheist I find interesting on this forum.
He was one of those who attempted to answer the question
and I decided to single him out for a reply .

This is the answer he gave below .

I would love to live in a world where we can all discuss what we think is the best way forward and then come to an agreement, without getting into killing rages, no matter how heated we get in the process. If that world contained religion I won't mind because then it would mean convincing people with sound arguments and evidence rather than sentimentality and relying on indoctrination to kick in. Religion is mostly culture and tradition given a veneer of immutability, men need culture and tradition but men don't need immutability.

So who and who do you think should formulate what we think and how should bit be present to the world ? :
As a law that must be lived ?
As non compulsory ideas ?
How would you get everyone to agree when there is already a general disagreement of thoughts ,cultures and social orientation ?

Who is who to say what is what ?
How do you intend to moderate these ideas without getting them evolve into organised religions has we have today ?

If there are no religions wouldn't disagree of thoughts still be a reason why violence would exist ?

On what basis shall morality be defined ?
There are some atheists who belife that homosexuality is immoral even though they don't believe in God and there are some religious people who believe that homosexuality is okay ,now how do you reconcile these ?
Which one should the world subscribe to and on what ground ?

Reason. Educating people on reasoning and applying it to everyday living. And lemme add that empathy will play a good part in that reasoning.

Reason : some of the world's best philosophers like Aristotle , Socrates ,and kant
Made efforts to convince the world on certain issues some to which the world agree with and some were reject or discovered to be inapplicable by others philosophers .

People like ibn Sina of Persia ,the mutazilites of the Islamic caliphate were fought and some were put to death because of reason .

What is reasonable to you might not be to another because you see things from different angle .
If you mean reason - dialogue
Then the world powers have been having dialogues with terrorists for long and it seems
Dialoguing is not to be applied in every situation .

In fact the west is not looking up to reasoning with another with the aim of convincing them to accept their ideologies
Rather they are now giving room of inclusion and diversity ,there are making the world to become more complex .

How would you convince those who have been oppressed to use reason to get justice instead of equal violence .
And how would you convince those who have been brought uo and taught to use violence that reason will be more effective than violence .?

How do we convinced boko Haram with reaosn and get them to lay down their weapons with by reason ?

2.educating people : who will be the one to educate the other and with what knowledge shall they be educated ,and from whence would the knowledge come ?

If you say you have an idea then there are a lot of people who think they are smarter than you are and would argue that their own ideas ought to triumph above yours .

3.empathy : would you be able to show empathy to your enemy ?
Jesus said "pray for your enemy "

How what ground should one pray for his enemies by empathy?

Do you think your best enemy deserve your empathy ?
how will you convince someone whose entire family was killed to show empathy to the killer if he meet him even if the killer is not sorry for the deeds ?

Diversity and inclusion IS based on reason not religion. Your fellow religious people would be happy to make minorities disappear if they are given the chance.
