Just watched a Pete Edochie movie where he spoke PIDGIN ENGLISH with John okafor (Mr Ibu). Based on his movies, I never believed he could speak Pidgin.😯 Some 'Classy' or Posh' or 'Educated' Nigerians, It seem like they do NOT know how to speak Pidgin English.🤨 Is this Really possible?🤔 |

Possibly. Pidgin English is an interesting, unifying language Nigerians should embrace. Like Jamaicans with patois. I hope to write a book in pidgin someday. |

I was once friends with one Nigerian girl from the Yoruba tribe back in varsity who could neither speak Yoruba nor pidgin... She spoke English as her first language and Sotho as her second language... Both her parents are Yorubas. |

Vinnie2000:While it's possible some Nigerians might not be able to speak fluent pidgin English due to certain factors, the bold isn't any of them. The way U even reason tells me the category U fall into but I will not go into that for now. Nigerians who grew up where pidgin isn't spoken normally, will not know how to communicate with it. But any Nigerian that grew up in Nigeria and schooled here, wether they schooled in top notch foreign schools based in Nigeria all their lives and they act like they can't speak at all are nothing but liars and fakers. Those are the ones some of U call "posh" because they can manage some certain level of wealth and then they start acting for u ignorant people. I know stark illiterate villagers that can't speak fluent pidgin but their native languages so this has nothing to do with being posh or uneducated. How can U even equate education to any of that? Lol some of U guys sha really know nothing but thank God for the internet today. It's the same way some who are not even the least enlightened or exposed will tell U they don't or can't eat swallow with hands that it is local or wtv. But the westerners they copy wrongly eat certain foods with hands as it tradition abi etiquette demands. If Ur not a lady probably avoiding eating hand foods because of Ur newly done nails, or those nails that are dragon-like then Ur a very foolish and stupid person. I see them and laugh inwards so hard. Some Nigerians like pretending to be what they can never be or even ready to be ![]() |

Vinnie2000:No Not the way you have put it In school there were those who found pidgin English odd and dint not understand it all Take femi and the gang crew ...there were two members who literally did not not speak pidgin but because they were constantly in contact with persons who consistently communicated in pidgin..they were groomed into understanding how it is used and spoken |

Vinnie2000:He can't, we laugh at him when he tries, nigga lived in the village in the early age of his life, probably broken wasn't popular then, I think people in there 70s or 80 years are not popular with pidgin especially if they went to school |
