Watch out for these four in World Cup qualifiers

1. Felix Agu
2. Frederick
3. Uche
4. Dessers

Eric Chelle, abeg can Iwobi sit for Chukwueze in AM small?

Can't mark, no 1v1, doesn't win free kicks, tires too early, only good to pass

TheGoodJoe:

It has been there.

After Pep Coached Barca B and did wonders. Enrique took Barca B and performed well.

Guardiola won the Champions League and League with Barcelona. Enrique did the same.

At one time, Iniesta proposed that Enrique is a better tactician than Pep.

Enrique is my favorite to take over Manchester City and I fear him coming to Chelsea to turn this team into a fierce force.

I won't like both of them in the EPL.

The above has aged well and now has an update.

Guardiola has coached an Arab owned team and won a treble, including the UEFA Champions League with them.

Luis Enrique has coached an Arab owned team and won a treble including the UEFA Champions League with them.

Onuachu scores at least 2 of the chances Tolu missed.
Omo true sha, Onuachu is very experienced tho, Tolu has a very high ceiling, a very very high ceiling, he just needs to focus, his link up play and positioning are crazy and spot-on.

Most of the balls were headers and he's not Osimhen - he should be scoring them o, but not everyone knows how to direct a header. The one wey pain me pass na that almost open net wey he ballon go up with leg.

He's promising, and is an aerial threat, once he clicks, we'll have another beast on our hands, no be AI be top scorer for Belgium, na Tolu. He needs to watch one or two Osimhen highlights, make him height no dey waste.

If Osimhen was in this game a lot of us go forget the rubbish performance wey the guy put up because he'd have gone home with two assists to his name yesterday. Thank God say Ola Aina still dey alive o 😂

Just get one DM to be supporting his wing when we're defending, or the right winger

Indeed. Seeing how Enrique absolutely made yesterday the easiest UCL final win in history, trumping the AC Milan 4-0 win vs Barca in 1994, then I gotta say, he deserves all the plaudits.

He did it executing a rebranded and wing transitions-playing tiki taka style and played with no natural number 9. The PSG press led by Dembele was fierce and intense. Got the best out of Vitinha who's one of Europe's best CDMs now.

When I saw he is the second man in history to win the treble with 2 different sides, my head thought for a second and asked... who is the first? Then it clicked... Pep Guardiola and both have a denominator, Barca.

Indeed, after being criticized for the way Spain fell at the WC to Walid's Morocco on penalties in 2022, this is indeed a super compensation and a great vindication for Luis Enrique.

Let them know. 😄

I remember when they laughed at and criticised Luis Enrique on this thread for the Morocco vs Spain quarter final game in WC 2022. I rooted for Morocco ofcos as my boys but I respected Spain and Enrique's work. Truth is Morocco escaped on penalties but it is gone. We have moved.

Absolutely brilliant stuff.

There was a time PSG had five men close to the box of Inter Milan in a high press. I was like Chelle, I hope you are learning.

Yesterday's match gave me so much joy because I was glad of the vindication he was getting. Especially, with no big super star like Mbappe. Glad he got the victory yesterday.

Vitinha was so brilliant yesterday. He brought in his a game.

Another player that also thrilled me was Fabian Ruiz. He was just breathless. Giving the Mikel Obi of 2005 vibe. He was so good that the Inter players were trying to injure him. He had me clapping in joy.

Point to note:

Fabian Ruiz in recent time has won the European Championship, European Nations League, and a treble with PSG, including the UEFA Champions League. Absolute Legend going under the radar.

Eric Chelle on Benjamin Frederick's 90mins+ showing at CB

“Benjamin Frederick was good. He was very calm and composed. Technically, he’s close to perfect — especially when it comes to touching the ball and making strong passes,” Chelle said.

“He reads the game well, but of course, there’s room for improvement. We conceded a goal, and maybe he could have done something differently in that situation.”

“Like I always say about our players — even when they play well — we still need to improve every day.”

Also....

“My assistant even joked that I should take credit for his performance because I selected him. But really, it’s just one game — a big one — and he needs to keep working hard and improving.”

One thing I want Chelle to keep in mind is the way Flair is coming back to football. Due to the high intensity and tight pressing of the modern era, players are learning to think and move fast. Players are getting more comfortable in tight spaces.

Yesterday we had Kvaratskelia, Doue, Ruiz, Vitinha, Dembele, that played with flair and intelligence. Also the midfield were comfortable in keeping the ball amongst themselves.

Chelle needs to work on improving our midfield fast. Since Mikel Obi, we have not been composed in the middle. That needs sorting out with scouting and training.

I already clarified before that Finidi was 100% right with the bolded statement.

Either way, I have no doubt that with time, Finidi would have made us phenomenal. Our quest for immediate results hampers growth of coaches. I hope Chelle gets quality time.

Formation is not the most important that wins games but the interpretation by the players. No matter the formation or tactics put on ground, if the players don't understand and interpret their roles, the formation won't succeed. So understanding roles and interpreting it is more important than formation.

This is one of the smartest tactical things I ever heard and it came from Finidi George. Increased my respect for him as a tactician.
