The growing trend common in people these days is, I don't go to church but I am a spiritual person. Some would say I do good and I love God but I don't belong to any church.

Is it possible to love God, do good and not be affiliated to any denomination?

Religious experts, can a man claim to be a child of God without devotion?

No!

Someone cannot be a graduate student without education.

Let's break it down. Being a moralist is different from being a child of God. You can be a moralist without being guided by religion. But to be a Child of God, you have to know God's principles through religious activities. Below are some of the clear differences.

A moralist will not condemn sex before marriage as long as the sex is consensual and involves only adults, especially if the parties have agreed to marry each other. A child of God will avoid premarital sex even with his fiancée or her fiance, he or she will wait until marriage.

A moralist will do good to fellow humans while lacking the concept of praying to and praising God. A child of God does good to humans and dedicates time to praises and prayers. And this is where worshiping in a congregation is compulsory.

A moralist will support execution of criminals, a child of God will not.

A moralist will want gay people to be killed or excommunicated. A child of God will condemn the act of gay but will not harm gay people, he or she will keep hoping for gay people to repent.

A moralist will support divorce if the marriage is not peaceful. A child of God will not support divorce but will advise for living apart. Living apart is different from divorce.

A moralist will revenge if repeatedly offended, a child of God will keep forgiving.

It's very possible but such persons are not grounded because they don't know the word very well. Cos the bible said we should not forsake the assembling of ourselves together

The relationship between a man and God is spirituality.
When there is an intercessor between a man and God (like Jesus and Mohammed) it becomes a religion.
When someone now comes in between an intercessor and a man, it becomes indoctrination or denomination.
Tell me what religion Adam practiced in your book, was he not a child of God before he sinned?

So a man can be a child of God without religion or attending congregational houses.

It's not good but sometimes there's no choice. As long as you have a vibrant personal relationship with God, it's better to be church less than go to the wrong church. The wrong church can kill you spiritually.

Now for someone that's not serious with God, any church will be better than no church. Because that will make God be in your consciousness. Even if you're getting the wrong knowledge about God, you'll still be thinking about God. It's better than people who don't acknowledge God in their daily lives.

No—one cannot truly claim to be a child of God while neglecting devotion, because being God's child redefines our priorities.

Devotion is dedication to Christ, expressed in worship, fellowship, obedience, and ongoing transformation.
Without devotion, Christianity becomes cultural, not covenantal.

Also, the Bible never presents Christianity as a solo walk. Jesus didn’t just save individuals—He created a Body, the Church.

Hebrews 10:25 talks about "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is..."
1 John 1:7 – "If we walk in the light... we have fellowship one with another..."
Acts 2:42 – "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship..."

There are different methods of education both formal and informal and they all get their certificates,some are gotten through distant learning.

So, with the bible, you can be guilded and know the word of God.And if you follow it religiously and wholeheartedly, you can become a Christian and child of God

As in, devotion to who? To God or to a church?
Now, a man can be a child of God without belonging to any denomination.

John 1:12 (KJV) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

You can see from this verse that the answer is YES. Church is not what makes you a Child of God.

However, belonging to a Church, hearing & studying the word of God etc are essential for Spiritual growth & maturity as a Christian.

No it is not possible, but again i think the issue is also on choosing the right church, how do you find the right church?

My point here is that you can be a Christian without attending a Church,so far you are studying the Bible and practicing is religiously.

So also is a school,you can become a graduate without being in a classroom with students and a lecturer(distance learning),so far you read the text and write your exams.
