Finidi was actually giving a deep education on modern day philosophy. Players now have roles and duties. Instead of restricted positions. Look at Dembele or Kvaratskhelia play yesterday, taking up multiple positions. It showed fluidity than just formation.

In today's game, teams switch formations to adapt to different changes. Finidi is saying understanding your roles, when to make changes is what leads to winning.

Bros leave this talk, now you are talking about switch formation, all still boils down to formation, whether run, stop, freerole, switch role, overlapping fullbacks, false are all interpretations of different formations coaches introduced into the game of football. There is a guy by the name David Akintola playing for Rizespor in Turkey. Apart from Osimhen in Turkey, he has been an impressive Nigerian player i have seen in recent time. I just discovered that Éric Chelle have not played against any European team with any of the countries he has coached, Mali and Nigeria. The only country outside Africa he has played against is Saudi Arabia.

This same Saudi Arabia played 2–2 with us but were walloped 1–3 by Mali just three days after, the one goal seff was a spectacular outside the box shot that the defence couldn't do anything about.

Now, this Saudi Arabia have played against Russia two times, won one and lost one, meaning that they are a decent side too. So if Éric Chelle pummeled that same Saudi Arabia almost to nil, that means we might have a chance against Russia. 😏

Rewatching the Saudi 🆚 Mali game, I'm seeing Nigerian players in the Malian players because of the style of play, very identical to what we're playing now... 😁
