The architecture of the houses in the background is distinctly European, and NOT typical of Nigerian houses.

As if this is not Nigeria. We all saw how the repair of Lagos-Ibadan took twenty years. You dont know jack.

If the actual distance is 750km and the old route is less than 760km, what is the benefit of this road? Except i am missing something crucial, they say the new route will take 7 hours but the old one thats only 5km longer is taking 13 hours. If it was a rail route now, i will understand. Na waa ooo.

Just like some of you said the Dangote refinery will not be completed in 40 years.
This road is obviously going to be completed before the second term of the president.
The terrain is difficult but some sections are going to be faster than others.

The Dangote Refinery was handled by proper contractors, this road was awarded to a convict in two countries - Gilbert Chagoury, convicted in the USA and Switzerland for fraud.
The Dangote Refinery was necessary, this road is completely unnecessary.

It is still public by whatever measure, even if there is an alleged component of private investment. Mind you N1 Trillion of Public funds have been paid upfront - and the so-called private component will probably be a ruse, going by the antecedents of the contractor and his partner in crime, the president.

Let us assume they are corrupt like you said but there's no record of any project they started and then abandoned midway.
Therefore, there's no valid reason to believe this road will not be completed in 50 years like you said.

Its interesting that you are silent about the contract being awarded to someone convicted of fraud in two countries and the fact that procurement processes were not followed - and I should add that the funds were not appropriated as required by law.

Those points are moot since the project is already ongoing.
The only reasonable option you have to stop it and make sure it is not completed is if you can get a court injunction based on the evidence of corruption at your disposal. That I cannot argue with.
