Before you begin shouting effrontery, I will advise you find out if you have body odour and if yes, find solution to the problem rather making your problem public yet without solution.

even look.me and her, she's the one who you will likely cover your nose when you get to meet her.

I'm not surprised with people supporting her giving likes and all, nor be nairaland again?
Na the problem with una. For her to tell you you are smelling shows she loves you.
It took me 10years to tell a friend that his house smells. Well, it didn't end well but right now I know say him go done adjust no doubt

One thing people don't understand is that taking your bath everyday doesn't mean you won't have body odour. Because body odour is a disease on its own. The whole essence of having your bath is to remove dust stuck on your skin. That's all. People and oversabi when it's comes to bathing undecided

Why not ask ur wife if truly u have body odour....Na ur body so u nor go observe am, d lady might be right Sha.
Funny thing is... The wife might not be able to tell if they've been married for long, as she would be completely "nose-blind" and desensitised to it.

Body odors come in various forms...! Some are too obvious to hide while others are quite mild that only someone with heightened sense of smell will notice... Maybe Op falls into the latter group.

That said... The guest was totally WRONG and out of order!

That's not something to say out loud to anyone except both of you are deeply close, not even if the person is your junior or subordinate... Being a guest in his home makes it truly abominable.

If it was something she found unbearable, she could have spoken with the wife instead, or sought to find alternative accommodation.

Personally, body odor is one thing I can't live with... Hell NO!

That, and SNORING!

I once spent the night in shared hostel where someone snored deeply and loudly close to me... I practically did Vigil that night!

I had to strongly resist the urge to strangle or smother him in his sleep. undecided

OP I understand you perfectly. I have an aunt like that who's overzealous to a fault. She's always looking for how to embarrass you into submission, it's a tactic that saucy people use when they figure out that you're timid. Don't fall for it! Warn am say if she try am again she go comot for your house.

Even in the rare occasion that my host has an odour, it'll be unwise to keep mouthing it to them. I'd rather just keep mute. It's rude the way she's going about it. She knows exactly what she's doing, don't fall for it.

She didn't say it outrightly but for the few days she's been here always asking me if have bath...I mean your a guest in my house, and still you have the efontery to ask me that kind question because I let you into my space.

she did same thing this morning, telling my wife to put water for me to bath...shoi...me that if I want to bath no body will know, just to enter the bathroom..I don't even use hot water....and I normally bath twice before the day ends... except when I'm not going out....na this lady is asking me this kind question as if my body is smelling...or I have body odour in my own house...or na must for me to baff early in the morning when I'm not going out.

if you see the way I shouted for her with all the anger in me this morning not minding she's an older relation .I just can't hold it no more.

Have you ever experienced an odd guest like this?
Appreciate her for letting you know. At least you would now be conscious of your body so that you don't embarrass yourself outside.

First, ask your wife whether you have a body odor.

Let me honest with you. You can hardly know if you stink. It is not about deodorants and perfume

2ndly Thank God that you have someone. to tell you. I made the mistake of telling the laundry in the hotel I stayed 5 days ago about his odour. He went into self denial mode.

His oga complained about the same issue at a staff meeting shortly before I left! He was so embarrassed!

Such an alacritous person deserves commendation than condemnation; you need more of her type around for your betterment and advancement, provided that she's right with her observation and regardless of how unpalatable it might seem to you and anyone who takes delight in being put on a pedestal. Those who put you on a pedestal can't be that alacritous, and in them, you have frenemies with or without knowing.

An average man's poor concept of respect has always been the bane of his progress.
The only thing i gained from this post is adding another word to my vocabulary, thank you for that.

So rather than helping the person by telling him or her the bitter truth, you'd prefer to stay quiet?

Back in the university, we visited a sick friend in the school's male hostel; 6 bedspaces in a room. The moment we stepped into the hallway of the rooms, God we almost ran back 🤮🤮. The terrible body odors that kept emanating from each rooms as we kept walking to our friends room. It was terrible and when we finally entered our friends room? Nah family, we couldn't stay up to 5mins in there before we left.

Even when I enter public buses sometimes, some guys if not most have this similar body odor and it's terrible and sickening

If the Op insisted that he is neat then I have no problem.

There is a proverb that says: you don't come to someone's house and be telling them where to put their chairs.

Anyway, since you said the woman is older, she might just be over sabi. Maybe that is her own ways of caring. cheesy

Finally, increase the notch of your neatness a bit... cool

Like you said, she an older relative
A older relative has right to give you instruction
Besides it may be that she is caring for you

op I can relate, there was one that came to our house, early morning he would bang on our door that its time for prayer, he would always ask me and my hubby whether we have prayed.... We couldn't even watch our favorite show on tv....

Very annoying guest ....... He was a bossy guest, we endured everything, since we know his days were numbered.
I have in-laws like that . cheesy

She's craz.yy to be pushy about it.

But take it as a feedback.

Maybe you emit a strong masculine scent which isn't related to baths but to the hairs on your body like the armpit and pubic.

Also, dont be one boxer per week guy biko.....its one boxer per day. Pele

You'd think you're helping them until they start to isolate themselves and stay away from you.

You're only responsible for what you say and how you say it, not what the other person understands.

Some things are better left unsaid.

Some people just conclude on issues without reasoning. If you don't see me enter bathroom doesn't mean I don't bathe. Why must the woman be poking her nose to other people's affairs even in their house. If you are irritated in a place you can leave.
