TheSuperNerd:We don’t need to keep boxing our players into Europe, we need more Afcon titles for our football, we’ve beaten Cameroon several times but they have more trophies and keep rubbing it in our face after winning it in our backyard in 2000. The Ghanaians will keep taunting us until we surpass them in Afcon titles, we are even no where near Egypt, the Ivorians have caught up with us already and if time is not taken Morocco will catch up too. I’ll rather want to see our players pushing more to stamp our authority and command more respect on the continent so the likes of South Africa can stop flexing muscles with us. Osihmen is one of the very few players in recent history that has shown this zeal and commitment to the national team and we have the best opportunity now to turn it into something special and huge for us as a nation. Am sorry I don’t buy this trying to be like drogba or salah thing who never or yet to do anything so special for their national teams either at Afcon or at the World Cup. We keep wondering why we are not doing too well in underage competitions well there’s nothing much inspiring in the main national team for these young lads to bring more laurels for the nation. |

So Samuel Eto'o that achieved in Europe and also won multiple Afcon titles is an alien? Did he have to shun European club success to focus only on Afcon titles?? Did Mikel do so too? Whether we like it or not, the highest standards of the beautiful game is in Europe. That standard wont change for my man, Osimhen. Goke7: |

TheSuperNerd:How much success did the likes of Yekini and even okocha had in Europe, are they not legends? Was it their European success that made them? Both players remain our top 2 Afcon scorers. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 9:28pm On Jun 05, 2025 |
Good. But it is on this same thread some of you yab Okocha's near "trophylessness" career. Also, Okocha and Yekini are legends. How come Mba, Emenike and even Omeruo all afcon winners as well not seen in same breath? Goke7: |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Goke7: 9:34pm On Jun 05, 2025 |
TheSuperNerd:I personally reckon with these players and see them more as heroes inspite of what others say. There was an argument here between emenike and martins and I was one of those who said martins never made much impact for the national team. Facts don’t lie na. Longevity in the national team also play a big role in establishing legendary status. |

Osi will definitely make the best choice first for his family and career Let's just keep calm and watch |

They are heroes but do they command same legendary status as Kanu who never won the Afcon or Okocha who actually won it? Personal reckonings are nice but we talking "world recognised" here. Osimhen should focus on both his European and NT legacies if he is to be mentioned years from now in the same breath as Eto'o and Drogba. Weah did all he could with his NT but he didnt just focus on that, he built an unforgettable European club career legacy. Goke7: |

Chai See all these big big scorelines these europeans dey gather sef. Inter vs Barca 7-6 Spain vs France 5-4 Before Caf games go get this kine xG ehnnn. As world cup dey come again, what's the master plan to at least frustrate these free flowing scorelines cos i no understand. They're superb at hacking defenses. So if caf teams wan use that template of defending na OYO. What can they do really to come out tops? E reach to ask. We too rigid and sluggish. See how these guys wan die ontop pitch. Even Mbappe leave big man one side |

Goke7:Stop this,it doesn't make sense. Do u really think Yekini and Okocha would have attained legendary status if they had spent their prime years in Saudi Arabia and Asia playing football? When Okocha have often been criticized for not playing for top club self. Now u want Osimhen move out of Europe and cut short his upward growing career because of quicker money . |

📰 @Gazzetta_it: Milan is also monitoring Raphael Onyedika, a 2001-born Nigerian midfielder from Club Brugge. He’s been on Milan’s radar since his time in Denmark with Midtjylland. The downside? He’s non-EU and would occupy a precious foreign player slot. |

daveP:thats why chelle need to put in our players head, the mentality of outscoring your opponents…. Most African teams dont have the mental strength of a comeback, especially this kind of high pressure 5goal lead…plus you dont score these goals and take your foot off the firing cylinder, like the Nigeria v Sierra Leone game where defenders went to sleep after a 4-0 lead….Russia 5-0 Zambia is another testament that African team lack the mentality to comeback…especially when playing a tactical discipline/superior opponents. Thats why if Algeria or Morocco wan beat you, them go bring mortar and pestle to pound you with 5-6-7 goals and them no born you well to come back |

minfelix:Chelle’s team score goals but the big issue is that they concede a lot too just like Siasia’s He should learn to balance the team to avoid conceding much goals |
