Good morning house,

Please is it compulsory to notarize my husband's consent letter and also a letter from my mom(I am her primary care giver in Nigeria, I have a doctor's letter stating I bring her for her hospital visits) that I'm attaching as my document
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Maryjane62: 9:49am On Jun 04, 2025
I didn't understand this part "You also need to attach proofs of your husband will be in the country during the trip."
I'm not travelling with my husband, I'm going alone

giselle237:
Okay
Pls you need to jot down a day to day itinerary
You also need to attach proofs of your husband will be in the country during the trip.
Present all your employment documents and details as this would serve as a great tie for you. Anyone earning
over 1m from/in Nigeria stands a better chance.
Again fill your application form carefully.

Provide proof of everything you claim down to your savings.

This is becoming very frequent in the claims of self-employed people on this thread. The inconsistencies you all present could be very baffling,
How logically possible is it that an individual earning approximately 80 million annually in Nigeria which is around 6.7 million naira monthly—would still rely on a sponsor for a tourist trip??
Like you are earning 6.7m and still require your brother to pay for your trip?

I’m guessing you never read this thread before putting in your application. There’s nothing else to tell you that has not already been said here countless times. If you actually spend some time going through the thread, you will understand why your application stood no chance. Read through, and you will understand your many mistakes and know how to correct them in the future.

Sorry about the refusal. It was a disaster waiting to happen.

The issues I spotted:

1. Length of stay - One month and 5 days. Too long. Two weeks max

2. Annual income - N80Million. Really? Is that your annual income or turnover? Two different things that should not be mixed up

3. Closing balance of your account - If you earn N80M per annum, surely you should have saved more than N5M

4. Large unexplained deposits - aka account padding. Always a red flag

5. Sponsorship by Brother - who earns N80M per annum and then needs someone else to sponsor a trip to the UK?. Another red flag.

Do you have travel history to any first world Country?

May I advise that you clean up your account, save consistently for the rest of the year and then maybe try again next year.

Alternatively, you can apply for a Schengen visa to boost your travel history.

Good luck!

the 80m is my annual turnover not income,
I didn't do account padding. I sell tiles and tiles accessories , i submitted 6months of my personal account statement.. I don't have business account, and since i started this business i only use my personal acct for my business... Secondly i don't have any travel history the main reason of me traveling to uk is to visit my brother who his wife just gave birth.. I don't have any intentions of overstaying... Thirdly, do i need to explain all the whole money that came into my acct? I have more than "twenty" 2m naira deposit.. U knw tiles business is all about huge amount of money and i added all the whole invoice .. Pls advice me on what to do so that i wont make another mistake when next i apply. Thanks and God bless

Thank you for your response and offering a recommendation.
Yes, I have a business account, and it's registered with CAC, and I have tax clearance certificate from FIRS for the business, I don't know if it counts. I receive large payments into it as well. Yes, my salary is low, but my major expenses are from my other sources of income: the rental property, my fashion and beauty business.

Okay, do you advise I use my business account for the bank statement? Or submit more than one statement.

Cause my company opened a salary account for us, but I don't use that account as much. Just my personal account and business account have large transactions. I receive the rent payments into my personal account. And business payments into the business account

I'd appreciate your opinion on this.

A consent letter from your husband stating he will look after the kid(s) whilst you are away and he's aware of your travel.

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by kpiper2473:
i assisted a friend with his application. Here is the refusal note.
In paragraph 2 of the support letter he stated this

"Source of Income:
My main sources of income are:
1. Employment with XYZ Limited: I earn N6,300,000 per annum before deductions and N5,700,000 per annum after deductions.
2. Rental income: I generate N6,000,000 per annum from a property I own and lease out annually.
3. Beauty shop ( ZYX Beauty store ): My income from this venture varies due to commissions and seasonal fluctuations
."

Cof O ,rental agreement, transaction receipt of 6 million towards was included. And in the letter ,we also stated that rental income was highlighted in green while salary highlighted in yellow
What did we do wrong?

I'm really super curious on what could be the reason a priority visit VIsa is being delayed for 10working days now. Anyone with past experiences?

Was escalated last Wednesday and was told today after another call that nothing can be done until 15days after escalation if no update is received so I just have to wait. Hmmm.
Got a call from UKVI yesterday, was asked some questions with respect to my application. What i plan to do, my current role in the company, when the event event is expected to commence, how much my company paid, then asked me if I have any questions.

It's been over 24hrs now, still no update. Could this be a positive sign?

Cashmadam and anybody with experience can help to solve this question

Federal inland revenue service issues my Tax certificate and they said I should be paying #5000 for vat on monthly bases, they said am a small business. I Hope this Small money for vat will not cause red flag if they confirm ? . It was stated in my Tax certificate that I will be paying my Tax every monthly.
