I personally reckon with these players and see them more as heroes inspite of what others say. There was an argument here between emenike and martins and I was one of those who said martins never made much impact for the national team. Facts don’t lie na. Longevity in the national team also play a big role in establishing legendary status.
Winning laurels in Africa and doing the same in Europe is not mutually exclusive.

🏁 MATCHDAY:
The Nigeria Super Eagles will be taking on the Сборная of Russia in a friendly match today! This will be the first meeting between both sides in senior football. Éric Chelle will look to make it 5 games unbeaten since he took charge of the Super Eagles!

🌎: International Friendlies
⚽:.🇷🇺 Russia 🆚 Nigeria 🇳🇬
🗓️: 06 June, 2025
🕤:.06:00PM (WAT)
🏟️: Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow

The last 5 friendlies Russia played at home were in 5 different stadiums, they set ours in the biggest of all 😁 - The Luzhniki Stadium 🏟️

The Luzhniki Stadium is the biggest stadium in Russia with a capacity of 81,000... It is expected that at least the stadium will be more than half-filled today. Win or lose today, expect premium entertainment of football! 🔥 I expect a win tho 😁

Victor Boniface and Bayer Leverkusen could part ways this summer with a good proposal for both sides.

After move to Saudi collapsed in January, new options are available on the market and Boniface could leave the club.

thats why chelle need to put in our players head, the mentality of outscoring your opponents….
Most African teams dont have the mental strength of a comeback, especially this kind of high pressure 5goal lead…plus you dont score these goals and take your foot off the firing cylinder, like the Nigeria v Sierra Leone game where defenders went to sleep after a 4-0 lead….Russia 5-0 Zambia is another testament that African team lack the mentality to comeback…especially when playing a tactical discipline/superior opponents.
Thats why if Algeria or Morocco wan beat you, them go bring mortar and pestle to pound you with 5-6-7 goals and them no born you well to come back
Omo i miss the ginger Legend Keshi gave that 2013 set mehn. Chai.

Anybody wey wan form big man should getat. Jpes brought that ginger back and it took us to the final. It will remain a standard till we win the next AFCON. I hope we're finding new guys for those on the fringe of fitness and time in the Super Eagles sha. An Era has come to an end.

A lot need to change

So are you saying that we were notified of Shehu Abdulai's infringement before our match and yet we fielded him? Make it make sense abeg
I learnt we were notified. Fifa actually sent a mail to an nff official. The story was that the nff official wasn't always checking the mail and according to them he was sick at that point. But that didn't hold water for fifa. They eventually deducted our point.

I also think it should be the same , the negligence of FIFA , CAF and SAFA doesn't hold any substance here since people have come to realize this SAFA mistake. the law must still be maintained

My preferred Starting XI 🆚 Russia 🇷🇺

🔄 Subs:
- Olakunle Olasegun for Moses Simon - 60th minute-ish
- Igoh Ogbu for Troost-Ekong immediately he starts showing signs fatigue, even if na after 12 seconds.

That's all 😎 Good luck to the Super Eagles 🦅🇳🇬

I've been clamouring for a scoring mid-field, and today Chelle serves us the best since sliced bread.

A mid-field with a good goal scoring record and not assist merchants, in Uche Chrisantus,Raphael Onyedika and Fisayo Dele Bashiru.

The above trio have scored 5+ goals this season while playing for their respective club sides.

Better than Ndidi and Onyeka Combo, that can play 20+ games with no goals to their name in the national team.

Chelle has always got it right with his substitution especially it's timing.

I expect a goal's galore today but Boniface must turn provider for this to happen.

He has always struggled in the GWG, but can get on the score sheet through some selfless display.

It's in his skill-set to be bagging brace/hat-trick of assists for the NT.

Osimhen did not score in his first 3 games for Gala but was always assisting his team mates.

Bony as well should do the same.

Go!Go!!Go!!! Super Eagles.

7 goals in 4 games none of which were penalties is a good stat.

Defense like you rightly noted is an issue. Conceding 4 goals in 4 games though not horrible can be damaging.

charlesemeka85:
Chelle’s team score goals but the big issue is that they concede a lot too just like Siasia’s

He should learn to balance the team to avoid conceding much goals

It's 4hrs + to go for the match in Luzhnikhi stadium.

Any ideas on streaming sites, channels etc?

Will the game be live on YouTube,DStv or the NFF page?

Another day for Ekong to remind us that he has outlived his usefulness in the GWG, I hope Eric Chelle is a fast learner

JohnBullMySon:
I read somewhere that the reason why it’s talking FIFA so long to make a decision is because somehow they are also responsible.

FIFA and CAF both missed the card and did not inform SA about it before the match, something they’d usually do.
This has got to be the funniest of the lot.

So u are saying a player accumulated 2 yellow cards and he's supposed to be suspended but FIFA conveniently "forgot" to notify the FA and as a result, FIFA will not apply the sanctions to the team that broke the rule? What do u call that?

Aiding and abetting!

Rules are rules and one thing y'all forgot is that if FIFA fails to sanction SA for this infraction, Nigeria, or any of the other countries, has the option of goin to CAS.

Ekong can't okay with 2 central defenders because he us now slow. He can only play with 3 central defenders. Peseiro noticed that just before the nations cup and chsmged our formation for him. I hope chelle notices on time
