Will President Tinubu Ever Forgive Governor Sanwo-Olu? By Tunde Omole by enemyofprogress(op): 3:30am On Jun 07, 2025
WILL PRESIDENT TINUBU EVER FORGIVE GOVERNOR SANWO-OLU??.

SANWO-OLU PLANNED A COUP TO REMOVE SPEAKER MUDA OBASA.

HOW THE GOVERNOR SANWO-OLU MESSED HIMSELF UP.

Around 2018, when I wrote it here that there were crises between Ambode and the leadership of the party in Lagos State (Asiwaju and others), those who lack insight started shouting "yen, yen, yen, there's nothing like that; it is just a conjecture of your mind; stop writing what you don't know about".

As a man of my mind, who is always true to himself, I kept making my points and evincing my opinions on the looming crisis. Also, I was just laughing and giggling at the follies of those pontificating on what they don't know or what they know but trying to be smart by half.

By 2019, when everything became 'yam pepper skata skata', I just pam for one corner dey laugh. You kuku know me, I no dey argue with ignoramuses. I believe that silence is the best answer for anyone who does not know and doesn't want to know.

The same thing is happening now. Governor Sanwo-Olu is paying Asiwaju back in the wrong way. He is playing double game with his boss, President Tinubu. A Yoruba adage says: ti awo ba ki fun ni, aa ki f'awo pada ni. The meaning is that you pay favour with gratitude. There is no forgiveness for he who forgets favour.

Two months ago, I wrote a post, and I titled it "Many Sins of Governor Sanwo-Olu, where I chronologically stated his many acts of disloyalty. I started with his aloofness during the EndSARS crisis. Let me take you down the memory lane.

After the crisis, when it was time for him to set up a panel of enquiry, he appointed only those who were sympathetic to the EndSARS arsonists. It was bad to the extent that the Panel faulted everyone except the violent protesters. It was strange when the report was out, that there was no minority report. All the panel members were the same.

Asiwaju would have been killed if they had had access to him. His company, TVC, was set ablaze, and his relatives' lives were subjected to undue threats. The entire blame of the crisis was cast on Tinubu. In all these, Governor Sanwo-Olu was feigning neutrality on a matter that almost consumed his Boss and his political dynasty.

Then, I threw a challenge to Sanwo-Olu's supporters, that they should produce just one video footage of when Sanwo-Olu defended Asiwaju, just the way some of us did. I am still throwing the challenge now: produce just one video footage of where Governor Sanwo-Olu defended Asiwaju.

We all behaved as if nothing happened. For political correctness, we were even praising him for what he did not do, thinking that he would adjust. It was a mistake on the part of many of us, then. We should have voiced out our grievances; perhaps, he might have adjusted. We kept pampering his abosi and tembelekun like Ọmọ Daddy.

When the 2023 election was drawing nearer, there were waves of crises. Asíwájú was scandalised. He was called so many unprintable names, just to scuttle his success at the polls. I served as a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council. We faced a lot. We put up a strong fortress and defence for our candidate, President Tinubu.

Still, Governor Sanwo maintained his mischievous neutrality. The electoral disaster the befell Asiwaju's ambition was embarrassing. If not that Asiwaju was on ballot paper, I would have thought or believed that the leadership of the APC in Lagos, especially Asiwaju himself, sabotaged their own efforts or played a game.

Unfortunately, no game was played. None! Asiwaju embarrassingly lost Lagos to an opposition party. Lagos of all states? Who should we blame? Should we blame Tinubu, who was running helter-skelter to gain the support of electorates in the North and South, or Sanwo-Olu who had all the resources and was supposed to be above board and win the election for his benefactor?

We heard a lot about how the party agents were deliberately deprived of funds and how election went in many polling stations without APC agents. Asiwaju was losing in Lagos, and the Governor did not bat an eyelid. LP supporters were joyous and booing APC and their supporters. I am not narrating what happened to Asiwaju in Abia State. This happend in Tinubu's Home State, Lagos. Anyway, we still acted like nothing big happened.

As much as we may wish to absolve Sanwo-Olu of any complicity or blame, what should prick our conscience is "did Sanwo-Olu not sit up during his own re-election". He went all out to win his own election. It shows that he only cared about himself, not Asiwaju's victory. If other APC governors had behaved like Sanwo-Olu, would Asiwaju have won the election?

The last straw that broke the camel's back is this. Early this year, members of the GAC paid a courtesy visit to Asiwaju in the Villa. During the meeting, Mr President used the occasion of their visit to express his grievances against the Governor's misdemeanours and the punitive measures he deserves.

Some members of the GAC, on their return, briefed the Governor of the imminent sledgehammer that was about to hit him. Instead of Sanwo-Olu to seek redress with the President, he kickstarted another plot to further embarrass the President. What was his plot? He connived with some stakeholders to remove the Speaker, since he remains the most potent Asiwaju's follower in his administration.

The plot was clandestinely hatched against Asiwaju's man, Speaker Obasa. On 13th January 2025, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa was swiftly removed as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. The news reached Asiwaju the way it reached any Nigerian. When Asiwaju said the removal was a coup, he wasn't joking. He meant it. It was a coup that was secretly planned against President Tinubu.

Let me now ask you: if you were Tinubu, would you be happy with Governor Sanwo-Olu? Despite his many acts of disloyalty and betrayal, you would see him and laugh, right? Well, I am like Tinubu: I don't know how to pretend. When I laugh, I'm truly happy. When I frown, I'm angry with you. That is how a sincere human being behaves. You can't plot to destroy me and expect me to be happy with you.

Asides what Tinubu will do, because there are consequences for betrayal, God is there to judge him. If it's good to pay unmerited favour with callous ungratefulness, God will surely judge everyone.

As for those saying nothing is brewering in Lagos, ask them, if they really know what is happening, if the Governor was totally not sidelined in the last local government primary election. As minor as councillor is, Sanwo-Olu was not given any slot to fill. That is an eloquent testament to what I have narrated above. I stop here.

Ghen ghen
It has started
First online propaganda and campaign to demonise their new victim
Then, He gets called Judas with his "bettayals" highlighted
Next is calls to impeach him
Sanwo might have been watching Fubara vs Wike with sick relish
But he wouldn't even envisage that he might soon become a scapegoat to teach any erring gov a lesson
I'm sorry but Sanwo may become the first Lagos gov to be impeached
The man holds absolute power now and nothing can stop him. Nothing

So the governor should have rigged the election in favour of Tinubu because he was in charge of the state's resources just like other evil minded governors did against the votes of the masses! huh This writer is one of the main cause of the problems Nigerians are facing today, how wicked and conscience-dead can people be angry

They are all fighting for their pockets.
The big question is why is Sanwo olu going the way of Ambode?
Why are those who rose to power through Tinubu now turning against him?
Clearly, there's something they're all seeing that the writer isn't seeing.

This narrative is one of the clogs in the wheel of Nigeria's development. Baba sope politics, the evil politics of Baba isale or Baba at the top is what is particularly dragging Lagos down. Can't the governor have free hand to do his job?besides he was popularly elected though election fraught with irregularities.

And for all the governors that came after Tinubu himself having issues with him speaks volumes.

Also, as a governor in Lagos, you remember how his deputies were being changed in succession?

Just look at how these people are pouring gbegiri on the national stage because, how does this medieval pettiness concern us when there are very serious issues affecting Nigerians today ? Whenever they're tired of someone or want to throw him under the bus, they unleash their akpako media aides to write epistles and letters even for mundane things. Keep your local champion grievances to yourselves jor undecided

If na me be Sanwo Baby, I'll just travel out to a very quiet country and send my resignation from there then invite Joe Rogan and Pierce Morgan for a reveal all podcast/ interview grin

If you are working with Tinubu and you really want to do things in the moral way you will definitely have issues with him

You can't be straight with someone who is crooked
Re: Will President Tinubu Ever Forgive Governor Sanwo-Olu? By Tunde Omole by grandstar(m):
Tinubu this, Tinubu that! Is he God?

People were slaughtered during EndSars to save one man's presidential ambition

Have you ever wondered whether the slaughter of EndSars protesters traumatised Sanwo-olu?

Tinubu lost Lagos State because of the strong Obidient movement there. The loss was not a surprise to many.

Many who voted for Peter Obi voted for Sanwo-olu during the elections. The switch simply indicated that Obi had massive support in Lagos where the populace is probably the most educated and enlightened in the entire country.
Re: Will President Tinubu Ever Forgive Governor Sanwo-Olu? By Tunde Omole by Dogalmighty17:
The author of this article is shameless. So Sanwo Olu should have rigged the Lagos presidential elections for Tinubu? The Lagos state house of assembly found that Obasanjo was using his office to steal public funds and impeached him as a result. So Governor Olu should have interfered in that?
Why won't Tinubu leave all Lagos state governors alone? From Fashola, Ambode to Olu. Tinubu found a way to trouble these men. It says a lot about the kind of leader he is.
