You can site health or other compelling reasons such as your thriving business as a reason to redeploy to your preferred location. NYSC is a once in a life time opportunity, don't deprive yourself of that wonderful opportunity. Leaving out the orientation camp and your leave before POP, it's just about 10 months of service. If you attend a public school, your education is already highly subsidized. Even some private schools fall into this category due to their low tuition in comparison to what obtains elsewhere. The least you can do is to give back while still getting paid.
You can do it safely and wisely too.

As long as you finish school under 30 you can go to nysc whenever you want to go even in 30 to 50 years time .


You can just snub it as you don’t want to go , don’t do anything that will affect you in future just leave nysc nothing will happen.

Or you can work it to your state you are doing your business. If you don’t want to spend 21 days in camp you can can do medical as sick person so you won’t spend a day in camp

As long as you finish school under 30 you can go to nysc whenever you want to go even in 30 to 50 years time .

It's better to have something and not need it,than to need something and not have it.

there's only one way you would have outsmarted the process.

Purposely failing a 1st or 2nd semester exam while running your business until you turn 31.Then you pass the exam when you turn 31 and collect exemption letter..

Though it may come at a cost of more school fees for 3years for the carryover paper .


Though as someone said, you could redeploy yourself to a workplace as PPA that's close to your business or any company that accepts your terms within the state your business is located.. But you first make the arrangement with the PPA first. Let them agree with your proposal.

The former minister lied. The absence of NYSC certificate wasn't the issue.

There's what's called voluntary exemption.
It's not by force to serve but its by force to have d certificate.

You can only get an exemption if you "graduated" at age 30 and above. Meanwhile, why are you worried about NYSC? Focus more on your business! Except you plan getting a government job later on, you definitely do not need NYSC! You can always choose to serve later

This young man built himself from scratch. Started his business as an orphan, with zero parental or government support—no grants, no loans.

He even funded himself through a private tertiary institution.

NYSC is not a do or die affair.

Postpone it indefinitely except you want to come back to level zero in your business when you come back.

There is no official way to get exemption except you are 30 years old.

Obtaining the exemption letter is a serious civil offence because he is not up to thirty-one-year-old.

Lack of retrospect makes people say these things. The society gave him many things for him to now deny them. He must have met people that helped him along the way. The govt and people are a true reflection of each other. That good part of the road that he plies was built by Govt. The Lecturers, teachers, Doctors etc who received subsidized education and are giving him relatively affordable services have contributed to whatever you call success that he has today. Think deeply. The answer is there.
