Mujtahida:When people make statements like this, it actually shows that they do not really watch football. No disrespect meant. Under Pep Guardiola, we have really seen brilliant players express themselves, especially at Manchester City. You just need watch Bernardo Silva dazzle under Guardiola. Watch this short clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajQv9xqzNm0 We have seen magic from Sane, Foden, David Silva, Bernardo Silva. Watch Doku and Savinho. Watch Oscar Bobb Watch these guys play under Pep Guardiola. We are seeing players moving faster in tighter defences. Pep Guardiola has actually improved football. |

Mujtahida:This side to side is boring and aimless. It's psychological but takes away the entertainment from football. Spain and Pep with this mentality. Germany has the hack to it but they always slip when you don't expect them to, especially with the low quality of their forwards lately. Na same way Arteta dey play. Same for Bournemouth. Marco Silva mixed his with a break and run approach at Fulham. Low block teams flourish always against it. Shebi if craze meet craze, craze go high. 🤣🤣🤣 |

daveP:The options are; * Have nations league and make AFCON are quadrennial tournament. Or * Have NL and scrap CHAN. Players based in Africa should focus on club competitions. |

Subzerooo:I don't have power to engage on baseless arguments. Real Madrid has more champions league trophy than your best 10 premier league clubs combined and u are here shouting "EPL is far and away the best league" If something is far and away better,it means it's better by considerable wide margin, how is it so compared to La Liga and Serie a? If they are far better, they should be dominating every other clubs from other leagues whenever they meet. EPL is considered best now does not mean it's going to remain so in few years to come,or that they were the best few years ago. |

daveP:An African equivalent is long overdue. This "friendly" tournament helps to emulate a high stakes competition, akin to the world cup, and as result, European sides are improving much more rapidly. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Ppogbae: 11:51pm On Jun 08, 2025 |
Odunayaw:Option 1 is much better imo. Can even do option 2 as well and eliminate CHAN altogether so as to not clog up the African football calendar. |

Ppogbae:The fear I have for NL is that the continent seems to be slow to accept new things. I mean look at the club competitions, they copied a single leg final and they've run back to 2-legs. The qualifiers do not generate as much frenzy so I don't know what a "competitive friendly league" drawn over a long time will be like |

TheSuperNerd:Maybe i am wrong. But couldnt yamal move to the other wing or to the midfield if the left back was giving him problems. Mobility is a key in attack. Also, i dont think this boy is as skillfull as ronaldinho. he may be better all round but ronaldinho was a better dribbler |

Philosopher1979:Skilful as Ronaldinho, Which Ronaldinho? Who is better all round than Ronaldinho, Yamal? You watch a kid yet to last more than 2 seasons at the top and he is already better than one of the very legends of the game. Nothing wey some of una no go write for this thread. |

Subzerooo:From the all-time “top‑first‑place” tally: England has ranked 1st in the UEFA coefficients a total of 20 times. While Spain (La Liga) has held 1st place on 23 occasions, do the math. From the recent rankings, La Liga was on top from 2012 to 2019, while EPL reclaimed top position from 2020 to 2025, do the math. This year EPL has 115 points on top, while the Serie A on second position is on 97pts, That's just 18-pts margin, and this year is probably the highest point margin they've had against the 2nd ranked league, the rest are just 1 2,3 - 15 points margin. Do your math properly and revisit your post and see who is making more sense between me and u, And whether if your claim that EPL is by far and away better than other leagues is correct or not. |

BankyGee:First of all once again it's not so simplistic but your presentation is misleading. Martinez has spent almost the entirety of his adult career in Seria A with Inter Milan. And his league goals are primarily in a top tier league. However, that's not the same with VO, Belgium, French and Turkish retirement league not the same level 🎚️ as Seria A. Don't get negative perception misled, l am not saying Martinez is a better striker than VO, I am saying he is more consistent but nobody calls him world 🌍 class.. The term CONSISTENCY is the core subject here. That doesn't constitute HATE, maybe 🤔 in your small mind it may be so. |

chrisooblog:Please have some INTEGRITY. Let me quote you verbatim, "club and national team football to be devastating when on his game" It's that false proposition you made when you described Chukwueze,I challenged as it has no substance,no matter how you look at it. Why will championship 🏆 numbers not fly as a unit of measurement for outstanding quality ❓ I am comparing Tella who some of have thrown under the bus 🚌 and dismissed. He has played two games and how many minutes but you dismiss him. When VO played for Nigeria his first game was abysmal and it took several games for him to have impact. Many of you including you choir master dismissed Aina as not being in good enough. Even justified him being dropped for the 2018 world 🌎 cup in place ofba completely dead Echjiele, Shehu, Ogu, J.Obi and now he out best defender for several years. The prejudice is blatant and unguarded and some of you have bare faced cheek to call me a hater. |
