yerima21:Hello Yerima. Yes emergency appointment is possible for all F1 visa applicants providing that you have done the needful ie SEVIS fee paid, I-20 date and sign, ds-160 completely filled and submitted. ** Yes you will be approved. It's the birth right of all F1 visa applicants if you have done the above needful. Note: You must be a 1st timer or you were denied 7 months ago. 👍 |

Efetobore1980:please what if one was denied jus last month and want to use emergency request after doing the needful of sevis fee paid, i-20 date and signed will it be possible? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Efetobore1980(m): 3:19pm On Jun 09, 2025 |
officialchikzy0:** That is going to be a thrown dice which result is unpredictable (but nothing is impossible). However , they will attend to all 1st timer first b4 the rest. The juggling of F1 (emergency) visa appointment request is determined by population but embassy wants all F1 visa applicants to meet up with resumption. 👍 |

Efetobore1980:please even with the ongoing visa interview pause |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Efetobore1980(m): 3:50pm On Jun 09, 2025 |
officialchikzy0:** Pls don't drag me into any visa interview pause as i don't know anything about it. We are discussing procedures for F1 emergency appointment request. I humbly request that we close this communication. 👍 |

Good morning, please how do I go about getting a visa appointment date as soon as possible? I have paid the required fee of $185 since 3rd week of May but I’m still unable to book an appointment on the Avits website. It keeps saying no appointment available here in Lagos. Please I need help on this urgently my school resumption date is in August. |

Teledom1:I am currently facing the same situation. I have not been to book an appointment date. Have you been able to get any date yet? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Katdaddy(m): 8:12am On Jun 10, 2025 |
officialchikzy0:if it's a new application with a new fee and you already have a date you can request for an emergency appointment. but if you don't already have a date you might have to wait until they reverse the current hold on scheduling new appointments. |

Katdaddy:you have to pay b4 you get a date |

preetyslim:Hello. There are 2026 appointments in Abuja. If you don't mind. The natural thing for you to do is to pick Abuja first (any year) as an F1 visa applicant and keep manoeuvring for nearer dates with your 5x (times) rescheduling options. If reschedule does not yield result you will then use your last joker (expedite appointment request) which i believe is going to be approved to you. ** Another thing we should not overlook is the rules. You must have filled your ds-160 completely and submitted, have paid your SEVIS fee, as well as date-signing your I-20.. Every visa applicant is qualified but they use the rules to judge you as everyone cannot be given the visa. If you want to keep waiting on Lagos without choosing any date (Abuja) first you may need to defer your admission. U.S. embassy is using wisdom in selecting Lagos applicants because the population of Lagos visa applicants is too much. 👍

officialchikzy0:I am well aware of that. I am assuming she has paid already but doesn't have a date yet in that scenario |

Efetobore1980:Thank you.. I have been refused twice in the past 2 months (Lagos consular) but i will like to give the final try before school resumption Mid August. Any chance of success? |

yerima21:** If you were able to secure an F1 visa appointments twice within the space of 2 months then use the same logic for your 3rd attempt. 👍 |

The date showed for F1 doesn't even exceed June 2025 let alone going for 2026. Efetobore1980: |

Efetobore1980:Hi, thanks for your reply. But the issue is that there are no dates available in both Lagos and Abuja. I have to get a first appointment date before rescheduling or requesting for an expedited appointment. I can’t even navigate beyond the month of June.

preetyslim:You wait. Check later in the month if they open new dates for July |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Efetobore1980(m): 4:20pm On Jun 10, 2025 |
preetyslim:*** There are 2026 dates in Abuja. Nonetheless keep checking or waiting as someone as suggested. Nigeria is not listed amongst the watchlist so the new development doesn't affect us. Even the watchlist nations can still have some genuine visa applicants interviewed. What you are experiencing has been occurring since the introduction of AVITS. It's their gimmick to clear backlogs of visa applicants and control (esp Lagos) visa post population. 👍

Okay so my situation is I’m not funded with any assistantship, it’s personal funding, I have a relative there that would be doing the funding But he’s asked me not to mention his name and instead say that I’m sponsoring myself to improve my chances I’d like to ask for your opinion and how to go about it |

| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Taal17: 9:10pm On Jun 10, 2025 |
davidthe7th:You know you would need to show fund statements to the university to get your i20. The sponsor there who would it be? Obviously your relative is not sponsoring else why note mention him |

Is there anyone who is able to see new appointments slots in the UK ? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by officialchikzy0(m): 8:36pm On Jun 12, 2025 |
davidthe7th:anything above $15k is difficult to convince the V.O but ensure you have double of you COA on your POF if it's personal funding and ensure you get a proper story to back up your claims. May God be with you |
