Thank you so much. For my case, my company is taking care of everything including airport pickup, full time accommodations with all facilities en-suite. I don't have family members in the UK. [qquote author=kel4soft post=135689652] Family members in UK, that's their interest. Since the visa cannot allow you work. They believe you will need someone like your sibling or partner who is already there that will accommodate you. The said person must put this in writing in acover letter including attaching their council tax. However, if you are planning to come with a dependant (whom ironically can work as they like) as tier 5 allows that. You will also need to state it too. This will strengthened your financial stability but offcourse that first few weeks of arrival - you will need to let them where you will living and who is picking you up at the airport.[/quote] |

readonenaire:This is a fatal error on the part of the ECO. Eventhough a complaint or PAP will definitely scale through, the process may be time-consuming and may make you miss the event looking at the July date you applied for the visa against. Therefore, I'd suggest you re-apply instead and highlight the currency issue in the fresh application. Most especially in the column provided for extra comments on the form itself. I don't think its all ECOs that read the attached letter of explanation. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Milito: 5:08pm On Jun 10, 2025 |
davodyguy:The ECO made a silly mistake. Probably a young inexperienced person who just saw the figure and gleefully made a quick refusal decision withoout paying attention to the currency. This is definitely a rookie mistake. I don't think we need to look for excuses for the error. I've submitted corporate dom account in the past and there was no confusion. The ECO just paid better attention. People submit dom account for visa application from time to time and there has never been any complaints of the account not being in local currency. |

omo...this life no balance. I got refused yesterday on the basis that i didnt provide enough information on the training i was going for. I plan on reapplying and using priority but worried that I might not get my feedback on my application before june 27. I need the passport for another visa application. Please house, do you think I should run priority application or just reschedule my training and reapply after 27th? humbleboyy:

Maryjane62:Just indicate the monthly expenses that come from your income. The 245k is from your husband's income regardless of whether you're the one spending it. |

Good evening all, I applied for a UK visit visa for my mum. Last Wednesday, we got a notification from vfs that a decision has been recieved and passport is ready for collection. Passport was collected today without any visa on it and no denial mail from UKVI. Is it normal? It's been more than 1 week since we got notification from vfs. Any ideas on what to do. Thanks |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by humbleboyy(m): 10:02pm On Jun 10, 2025 |
chetaraph:I may be wrong but the feedback seem to be heavy on travel history. I'd advise you reschedule the training, build your travel history before re applying. Remember to attach a statement of purpose and Justification for the training. Everything should go well. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Maryjane62: 10:19pm On Jun 10, 2025 |
The 245k is my personal expense, I was wondering if it's too small of a monthly expense if my monthly salary is 1200000 reason I need my husband to state he covers household costs Now does my husband need to state he covers the household costs and what supporting document does he need to add Taal17: |

Milito:Very apt. It was nothing but a rookie mistake from the ECO, an oversight at best. I wonder why we try to make excuses for these guys. Who outlawed submitting a domicilary account? Validity is what’s should matter not whether it’s in naira or dollar |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by America001: 12:37am On Jun 11, 2025 |
Milito:How can I buy a bottle of beer to show how much you spoke my mind here. I can’t agree any more. A PAP or complaint would definitely scale through, it’s just that the event in July would surely be missed because it would take something in the region of 3 months or so for the review to come through with passport back and all of that. I’m currently in the process of something similar for my MIL and I know how long it’s been. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Taal17: 3:14am On Jun 11, 2025 |
Maryjane62:I don't think it's too small based on your earnings but it's up to you to decide. I think what's more important is the cost of your trip vs amount of savings you have. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by readonenaire(m): 6:47am On Jun 11, 2025 |
Milito:Thank you so much, i would actually just let the complaint/review materialize, lol the funny thing is i passed through heathrow last month, with a 10 hour + layover, if i had wanted to abscond... oh well, i currently have no faith in their visa system, you need to see how meticulous i was with my application lol, seeing the gaffe they have been making in recent times. I would just wait it out, in this perilous times of border control, i cannot be raking in unjustifiable refusals, that would probably lead to me being pulled aside in other port of entries, since they all share data. |

America001:Ah! Do you mean as i have made complaint, they won't return my passport? i have been curious because i have been wondering why i have not received mail from VFS to come collect my passport. if thats the case, there is problem, i have exams in the US in July o! which kain wahala be this ![]() |

readonenaire:It appears to me that your primary motivation was to obtain a UK visa, especially since you have recently secured visas for the US, Canada. Emphasis on the recently because these ECOs act one way. If you haven’t used these other visas, and now you are applying for the UK visa in hopes that your recent visa history will overshadow your previous UK refusal— then I see what was on the ECOs mind. We have to differentiate between “visa history” and “immigration history.” Without travelling on a visa, you’ll lack an immigration history, which is a key factor that ECOs consider in this 2025. They look for evidence of travel and experience within 1st world countries first, essentially that you travelled, saw the level of good standard of living in these countries but still denied the urge and you return to your home country without overstaying your visa. When you do this, then you have shown a good imm history and can be very trusted. Very importantly you only just returned from the US last month as a first-time traveler, visa was obtained very recently, the urgency of another trip to the UK for a conference seems suspicious to the ECO. How many similar conferences have you attended overseas? They may think— what kind of employee is securing all these travels within short time span and with a recent UK refusal already on your profile it flagged eyebrows with them when you reapplied. Has this employee taken time to work since they just returned from a trip and now they are going again? Hmm? How come? With the above reasons- the ECO made a hasty decision without thoroughly reviewing your documents. All his or her eyes were seeing— deny, deny then deny. If attending the conference is essential, I suggest you reapply & point out to them this erroneous mistake. Make sure to complain on how unfair it is to pay such ‘expensive’ fees and not receive appropriate service. Your documents were not looked at etc.. write your points very convincingly and confidently. If not, it may be wise to wait out the complaint process which you have already started. Whatever process you follow in the end you would be entitled to the visa based on this technicality. |

I believe you didn't go through the guy refusal letter. None of what you stated was mentioned in the letter. He was simply refused because of a costly error by the ECO. You may want to go through the guy refusal letter once again. giselle237: |

@cashmadam and gurus in the house . Please I will appreciate your input . Kindly assist I am a nigerian fashion vendor. I sell african outfits and I have recently applied to be an exhibitor for a fashion event in London I am a business owner with about three small businesses but my fashion business is one that has grown in the last 5 years and i’ve started paying myself salary of 1 million monthly with a monthly expense of 300k just to keep my account clean for this visa application I’m concerned about the type of visa to apply for . If to apply for a tourist visa without including the exhibition or I should apply with the sole reason of travel being the exhibition show. Please I will appreciate if you can guide me to a success application . I’m a business owner and I don’t pay tax because my profit is less than 25m. My CAC is active also. I intend providing my business statements and personal statements. Which is safe for less scrutiny please Also to mention I have received an invitation letter from the exhibitions organisers. I don’t know if home office frowns at exhibitions like this one because there’s a possibility of making sales etc Please indulge me. Thanks |
