It depends.

If you are cooking for yourself alone, it can be expensive. Cheaper when cooking for a family size, we call it economies of scale. You go even chop belleful and visit pot again.

It's relative, I prefer we buy food sometimes because my girlfriend spends a lot on cooking especially pots of soup...

Sometimes when I am alone it's cheaper to cook depending on what the food is

Sometimes it's cheaper sometimes it's not

If it's just only 1 person, buying food is cheaper. But if it's a family of 3 upwards cooking is cheaper.
Besides the price of food stuff in the market is outrageous.
Tinubu no gree let single guys cook again. grin

Buying ooo.

*Singles*

If you must eat a mountain to belleful, then sofri cook sha. Else buying is cheaper and easier to budget for.

If you must buy half the market before your food sweet, sofri just go buy from better mama put wey sabi cook and chop small.

I prefer buying, with buying comes variety - but if you spend 5k for melon soup, you're stuck with it for 3 days.

Cooking at home might not be cheap, but it's the best option.
You will eat to your satisfaction and be free food poisoning and contaminated foods.
You can't belefull with food from restaurants no matter the amount.

Cooking is cheaper on the long run. It’s not just about the cheapness but the quality and hygiene of the meal. As an individual, if I eat out, I may spend approximately 5k in a day x 30 days = 150k but at home, 100k is quite okay.

Buying food is only cheaper cooking if you're eating a reduced quality and portion.
