He is from Edo and delta State (Formely combined as Old Bendel State).

As a kid in Lagos back then, I had an older friend when I was younger who like Osimen was born and raised in lagos but also from Old Bendel State and his mastery of Yoruba Language was so good that he used sit us down and tell us Yoruba tales by moonlight and we were in awe of his mastery of Yoruba language even though we the recipients of his story telling were Yoruba ourselves.

We are one people at the end of the day. My younger brother first married a Yoruba woman but the marriage did not work and now he is married to an Igbo woman that gives him peace although when her brothers in Lagos at first heard that she got pregnant for a Yoruba guy, they beat her despite her pregnancy until she fainted as punishment for daring to get pregnant for a Yoruba man. But they eventually came round and were all at my Dads funeral and their sister and my brother are happily married with 3 sons.

I've told my children that Nationality or tribe of a prospective life partner is IMMATERIAL and what counts is if they like that person enough.
