Neurotika:Thanks. Mostly i decide edge myself of safety and steady returns. So i am largely MMF heavy. Actually took that decision a couple of months back. I was 100% shares before. Now i am more of 70% naira mmf and 30% usd/euro denominated stocks. Still trying to find a good blend of safety, growth and returns |

Preator:If your portfolio's weighted average real return (adjusted for currency effects) fails to exceed the return of its highest-performing component, you're either over-diversified or poorly allocated. If I’m the one, I’ll do 80-85% MMF, 15-20% equities. Gives that good blend of safety and high returns. And as regards equities, well i’m a value investor so things like P/E and all those fundamentals still matter to me when picking stocks and I usually like to play the long game. Nonetheless, the key is to keep monitoring the portfolio to ensure you’re getting optimal yields…. |

yekini007:No, United Capital Group Plc (UCAP) does not belong to United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA). While UCAP was formerly known as UBA Capital and a subsidiary of UBA, it has since become an independent entity. UCAP was spun off from UBA in 2002 and subsequently changed its name to United Capital Plc. See mutual fund year to date returns

DEFINING INVESTMENT USING JUNE TWELVE J – Justify the returns. When you approach investing in an instrument, a rate is proposed. Justify it with economic reality. If it can’t be justified, be wary of such. If it’s too good to be true, it’s possibly a scam/ponzi U –Utilize available data to justify and back up your investment decision. Don’t just invest; utilize current data, remember the saying “Past performance does not guarantee future returns.” N –Negotiate for good returns for each investment move before making an investment decision. E – Evaluate options for maximum gains T – Transform cash into assets that produce more assets – compounding W– Welcome change in your investment approach if your method is not working E– Enlarge your circles of the right people (Networking). if you must have friends, let them be the ones with the right attitude to investment. L – Leverage every opportunity to learn more and make more of the available resources for your portfolio growth V – Validate available data to ensure its accuracy for informed and appropriate decision-making. Don’t just rely on rumours or assumptions when investing. E – End or terminate immediately any wrong investment ventures causing continual losses. Remember, you win some and lose some, just make sure your wins are more than your losses. Happy Democracy Day! |

FRANKLYex:Investing in Real estate is Good, but not as Good as all the Hypes you hearing. In fact Real estate investment is good when said property is giving you returns e.g Rent. As for just buying land and leaving it idle, that shouldn't make up a large portion of your investment |

Good evening all. Please can I withdraw anytime from my stanbic mutual funds. I was told it is 30 days after I start. I started in March and I've been putting money monthly.

amsomebody:Thanks a lot, I have also received the payment for yesterday, June 11th |
| Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 12:40am On Jun 13, 2025 |
tosinman:Note that you can withdraw/redeem your money anytime. Here is the condition: Any amount invested for 30 days or more can be withdrawn without any penalty, but any amount deposited and less than 30 days will require you to pay a penalty of 20% of the accrued interest on the amount you are withdrawing. For example: if you invested 500k on the 20th of March and another 1m on the 30th of April, then another 2m on May 20th, which makes a total of 3.5m, then on the 13th of June you wish to withdraw 3.2m, it means you will pay penalty of 20% of the accrued interest on 1.7m of the 3.2m because 1.5m of the money is more than 30 days while 1.7 of the 2m is less than 30 days. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by tosinman: 8:27am On Jun 13, 2025 |
Thanks for this explanation. In summary, anytime I want to withdraw for free, it has to be 30 days or more from the day of my last deposit no matter the amount. emmasoft: |

Where can I withdraw to savings account or dollars account...? You can only used a domiciliary account and your accrued interest is paid to that same dom account you used during the setup |
