Katsina Emir Refuses to Receive Hausa Governorship Candidate, Says “I’ll Only Vote for My Fulani Brother”

Throwback to 2023.

When Senator Lado Dan Marke, a respected Hausa son and gubernatorial candidate, visited the Emir’s palace in Katsina as part of his campaign — the Emir, Abdulmumin Kabir Usman, refused to even see him.

Instead, the royal message was clear and tribal:
“I will only vote for my Fulani brother.”

This is not just political bias. It is a painful reminder of how far Fulani supremacy goes — even within Hausa ancestral lands. The very people who built Katsina are now sidelined in silence.

This is not brotherhood.
This is betrayal.

But the tide is changing. Hausa people are rising. The silence is broken.Yoir message is clear, Hausa will vote for Hausa too

When Nigerian gained independence from the British, no one considered the North was colonised by Fulanis and needed independence too.

We are hopefully now realising the North needs freeing from Fulani colonisation, and would start working towards it.

But Hausa is among major tribe. How can you say Fulani are dominating you in your state? Are the population of Fulanis in Katsina more than Hausa people?

Fulani don't need to have a larger population to dominate. They just need to have been more wily and knowledgeable (and devious) than those they oppressed.

The number of Brits in Nigeria when Nigeria was colonised was likely not up to 10% (1% even, I bet) of the population of the Nigerians they colonised. And about 600 Spaniards were on Hernán Cortés ship when he conquered the Aztecs.

it starts from the mind, the hausas must change their mindset, they must remove the Fulani name from the Hausa\fulani joint name they are both called. They must make it known to the whole world that they are both separate peoples. They must recognize their large population and take advantage of it over the fulanis.

The population of Fulanis can't even make one full state in Nigeria yet they control and decide what happened in the north.

It is a pity.

Since 1999, Hausa governor have not rule any northern state.

If at all there is any, it can not be more than one or two

Yorubas should die this attempt of trying to separate the Hausas from the Fulanis in the North, as an election strategy. It is not only futile, it is laughable for reasons that need no explanation.

This is what most think, that they are one and love their oppressors. Its like claiming slaves love their masters.

Easier said than done to change their mind when their minds are exactly what has been colonised.

And that's where we Nigerians come in. Its our duty to free our neighbours from slavery. And it starts by us recognising our neighbours are enslaved, and that we are the next slaves if we do nothing.

You need to live in the far north to see how enslaved the Hausas are.
Infact, in many government offices, hausas impulsively bow when their ordinary fulani dept heads walk in.

In local governments, fulani heads almost all departments while you see the Hausas lining up for crumbs. And the Hausas bare the majority. It is unbelievable..

Post Dimka coup, the fulani used the oppurtuinity brought by the elimination of Middle belt officers corps to climb politically at the federal level. They will then use the coercive instruments of the state to re-superimpose their will/dominance over the Hausas. And this is not supposed to be so. The Army and the Police should not be used to defend some worn out "emirates".

The almanjeri system is a ploy to enslave.

The Hausas are taught to read a book in a language they do not understand, and are then told the meaning of what they read.

Its similar to the Bible readers being told Adam was created in God's Image, when its obvious Adam was created after God had rested on the Sabbath, and God can't be created from mud, and the job and pay given to the Image is very different to that given to the naked ignorant enslaved Adam.

It's not only the Hausas that need independence, we Nigerians all need to free ourselves from the bondage of ignorance too.

Totally off point. The governor of Kwara is a Yoruba man and there is only an Emir in Ilorin. Surrounded by 100s of Yoruba Obas in Kwara.

Infact, the emir of ilorin has been Yorubanized. The only thing attaching him to Sokoto is the emir title and ceremonial dressing. He can't speak fula. The official language in the palace is Yoruba.
