President Isaac Herzog Visits Site of Missile Attack in Bat Yam.

President Isaac Herzog today, Sunday, visited the site of the Iranian missile attack in the central Israeli city of Bat Yam where a number of Israelis were killed, dozens injured, and rescue forces were continuing to search for missing persons.

The President arrived with First Lady Michal Herzog, and addressed the media who were at the scene.

In his remarks President Herzog said: “Civilians of all ages, all backgrounds- Jews and Muslims, young and old, veteran Israelis and new immigrants, Holocaust survivors and toddlers, were unfortunately, and so sadly, killed by a horrendous Iranian attack against our cities.

“Iran has decided that they are attacking civilians, no matter where, and no matter what. And we, of course, will continue to defend ourselves.

“Our aim is to change the reality in the Middle East. It cannot be that the empire of evil will continue to attack and attack, send its proxies and its terror, its missiles, and of course, develop nuclear capability, which is the most dangerous capability for humanity.

So we are defending not only Israel, but the Middle East, humanity itself, world peace, and I call upon the leaders of the G7 who will convene tomorrow in Canada: They should all be with us, because if you want to get the nukes out, better work together, with us, and make sure that Iran does not reach its capability – and that our region can move to peace and dialogue and coexistence and rapprochement.“

Over the past hour, approximately 20 UAVs launched toward Israeli territory were intercepted by the IAF.

Further Iranian ballistic missile attacks on Israel are expected in the coming days, IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin says in a press conference.

"Challenging days are ahead.

There will be more launches and impacts in the coming days," Defrin says.

He also says that the Israeli Air Force is "not stopping striking for a moment."

"Even at this hour, we are striking dozens of targets in Tehran. We are deepening the damage to the nuclear program and the military capabilities, to disrupt and reduce the risk to the home front," he says.

IDF: Overnight, the IAF struck launchers and surface-to-surface missiles aimed at Israel’s home front

Overnight (Sunday), the IAF struck and dismantled armed and ready-to-use surface-to-surface launchers in Iran. Additionally the IAF struck launchers that fired missiles toward the State of Israel.

Furthermore, surface-to-air missile infrastructure and detection radar systems belonging to the Iranian regime were struck as part of the IDF’s aerial superiority over Iranian airspace.

Why is Iran using ballistic missiles against Israel?

Unlike drones or cruise missiles, ballistic missiles give Israel almost no warning, making them far more dangerous and harder to intercept.
