G boy,money miss road.i will buy the car for 1m. Engine has overheated,engine has been opened,and car is endless moneypit.1m is on the table.go and buy thinner of 1000 naira,1000 naira worth of thinner is about 35cl,like small maltina plastic size. Pour it into your fuel tank,buy fuel of 30k,take the car to express,and do Italian tune up. That is,u go dey match 130kph for at least 30mins,no braking,no stopping....do it and give feedback.make sure u down the 30k fuel till reserve light comes on. It would expell all carbon on your plugs,02 sensors,exhaust,catalysts. I've done it for about 5 diff people and till tmrw,they still regard me.

Where in Nigeria can you do 130kph for 30 Minutes straight and no stopping? Pls gimme a break.

Please help me, my car mpg Is just 3.6mpg, I buy full tank of fuel every 4 day's Interval, and It's draining me financially. I have changed plugs, air filter, all 4 coils, catalyst converter, check for leaks and none was found, clean the throttle body, cleaned the maf sensor and 02 Sensor with choke cleaner. I have done literally almost everything that needs to be done but no changes yet, It's a 2012 camry '4 plugs'

3mpg is 1.2km/ltr.
You're telling me you spend nearly 8k per 10km?

One thing I know is, you'd hardly find actual fuel efficient cars in Nigeria including tokunbo, especially for older cars.
People get 200km on corolla and civic on full tank here in Nigeria, and think they bought a fuel efficient car, when in reality it's a guzzler relatively.

The fact still remains,there is no unleaded fuel in naija,so don't even expect factory mpg,after that minus another 5mpg from that assumption, this is due to fake engine oil,gear oil,adulterated gas,bad roads,unnecessary brake,traffic.naija is a cursed country

At this mpg, you should see black smoke coming out of your exhaust pipe. Do you have that experience?

Your catalyst is the culprit,reconfirm what your mecho put there with a different mecho or panel beater

He could have just gone to a car slot or stand and buy foreign used one called Tokunbo and at least have peace at the beginning

My advice to is if you can play with 1m, go and convert the car to lpg gas cooking gas at home, by this you will save your self a lot of try and errors from mechs, I once had an issue with low power from my car after buying fuel pumps within space of 6 months, then another mech said plug, another side weak stuff like that, then an offer of conversion came to include lpg gas our kitchen cooking gas along with petrol, the same car with the same plugs, engine now moves like magic, so the second opinion killed some stupid assumptions presented to me then, we later traced it to substandard pump
