Zaidu Sanusi on the bench for Porto as they get set to battle 11-time Brazillian Champs and 3-time Copa Libertadores Winners (last won 2021) Palmeiras at the Fifa CWC. It is Group A Action. Palmeiras has Chelsea's Estevao Willian starting. Watch out for that boy. He is a dazzler. Samu Omorodion Aghehowa starts for Porto also. Note: Reigning Brazillian Champs is Botafogo. |

superbloke:The assertion I made at that time was very simple that Championship Fulham was at least comparable but possibly better than Porto, at that time. And that Zaidu will not make the bench at Fulham and Antonee " Jedi" was way better than Zaidu. The statement that Antonee is not wanted by most Premier league clubs is simply of no consequence and adds nothing. VO also is not wanted by most Premier league clubs, what does that mean ❓

TheSuperNerd:If south american leagues had money like saudi and retained their best players, they will beat European teams. This estavoa is even from palmerias. South American league is tge talent league. Its tge only league outside Europe that is at par with Europe. Uo till the early 2000's it was at par but money from Europe is needed |

Estevao taken off on 64mins or so. The 18y/o Wonderboy didnt do wonders today. Not his day. He and his fellow forward, Mauricio missed big chances that should have seen Porto fall behind. Anyway, Estevao still has a chance to shine against Al Ahly and Messi's Inter Miami. E no go easy shaa. TheSuperNerd: |

Estevao wasnt really at his usual best today but he still takes home the MOTM award (Superior Player of the Match). To be honest, Palmeiras should have nicked this. Claudio Ramos kept Porto in the game. TheSuperNerd: |

GMBOFASIA:Na only Turkish League he play? He no finish joint second top scorer for Europa League too despite playing the least game amongst all the people in the first and joint second spot too? He no score 5 goals in 6 games for country too this season? If Gyökeres can be on that list, putting Osimhen out of top 10 is just lack of ball knowledge or plain stupidity. The Griezmann thing no even pain me until yesterday. See rubbish wey CF ranked 2 spots ahead of Victor Osimhen dey play 😂 |

@ TheSuperNerd I think yesterday we witnessed the nail in the coffin of the Parked Bus defence. What we saw in the Champions League final looked like a one in a night thing where PSG ran through Inter Milansl's compact defense like it was fun play. But yesterday against Atletico Madrid that is know for a compact defense system, a side that denied Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool a chance to have a shot on target, we saw PSG rip through them over and over again. I believe tactically the Park Bus is dead. Getting more skillful players with flair in a tight space will see the bus crumble. Even Auckland's Park Bus looked a joke for Bayern Munich. Time will tell. |

@ TheSuperNerd I think that is why Pep Guardiola went all out for Cherki and also getting Reijnders and Ait Nouri. Choking the opposition with flair in numbers will break compact defenses. Time will tell. Chidera Ejuke should be dancing Alanta because they are now the wanted breeds |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Meliforme: 1:25pm On Jun 16, 2025 |
TheGoodJoe:Yes, Dribbling and switch of play using long balls are very important to breaking down a compact setup at the back. Chidera Ejuke recorded the most dribbles completed per 90 for any player in Europe's top 5 league, before his injury, and currently seats only behind Yamal in La Liga stats table for the just concluded league season His passes of the ball and the switch of play using long balls is a delight. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Meliforme: 1:26pm On Jun 16, 2025*. Modified: 2:55pm On Jun 16, 2025 |
Chidera Ejuke's most impressive stat for me is possession won in midfield per 90. He currently seats in the 9th position in La Liga stats table. A position contested by both midfielders and forwards. A statistic that has at least four Barcelona players in the top 10, explaining one of the reasons for Barcelona's dominance in the Spanish football. I have noticed a pattern in the matches for Sevilla that has Chidera Ejuke in the starting line up. Sevilla will go on to concede only after Ejuke has been subbed out. This tells a lot about how important Ejuke is to the game of ball possession and defending. |

TheGoodJoe:The flair overkill in Enrique's PSG side was too much for Atletico's famed die hard compact defence to keep up with. Vitinha again dropping another masterclass from the middle alongside Neves and Ruiz. Doue and Kvara combining flair and athleticism to devastating effect. Pep is also expanding his system to include more flair and athleticism as well hence the Cherki, Reijnders, Ait Nouri purchases. I understand they also have livramento on their radar.

TheSuperNerd:This is why the game lacks flair than it used to. It is all on Mourinho. So what Pep Guardiola intends to do with Cherki is to play him in an offensive role where he will have more freedom. We will Play with four guys attacking the box. For instance, Savinho, Marmoush, Haaland and Cherki. That will so they can interchange the ball fast in the box. Free Haaland and dominate the compact defense. THE SCREENSHOTS ARE FROM YESTERDAY BAYERN'S GAME.
