What you failed to realize is that there would never be a time the Israelis will allow Iran to develop nuclear bomb, despite the sanctions if Ayatollah had gone ahead to enrich nuclear programme let alone develop bomb, the US and Israel would have attacked Iran earlier than now. The countries especially Israel had been monitoring the nuclear developmental stages and even made a presentation at UN few years ago that Iranian are already "crossing the red line". So the premise of your assertion is wrong that if they had developed earlier on that it would have stave off Israel, the truth is they would never had been a time the Israeli with the US would allow Iran to have a nuclear bomb.

I understand your point but building the facility and making the bomb will take a process, how they will be able to hide it till finishing is what may be difficult.. I remember the case of Cuba when Russians was building nuclear plant secretly, somehow Americans had to find out even though it's late.. I still believe such might still happen if Iran go that route.
