Most schools do not require test of English for admission, check individual schools to see their requirements.

Gbemi, I already answered you. You need to do the search your self. You know what you want to study, go and google and type which sch offers the course without test of English, then start researching the results.

Most schools will waive the IELTS Academic English qualification for applicants coming from Nigeria with a Nigerian degree.

It’s mostly Indians and Chinese applicants who are required to prove English proficiency.

some university ask chiness students to come 4 months early and undertake some english classes before they start as students

as a nigerian we do not have that problem

However, it’s always a good idea to email the schools and ask before applying, as each school has its own rules. In my experience, most schools will waive that requirement for Nigerians

Thank you! I’ll email some schools today and hopefully they’ll wave the test of English.

Remember to email the admissions office of the schools you want to try .

But I’m quite sure that most schools in Canada — except maybe those in Quebec — will waive the English requirement for Nigerian students coming from Nigeria. Wishing you all the very best!

Good evening everyone anyone in Ontario (Waterloo) have any available sublet room for rent or know what the average cost for a sublet (September - December)
🙏🙏🙏
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 2:07am On Jun 18, 2025
You don't need to do this.

IELTS is not required for Nigerians, if you have it good and fine.

Stop being like those visa clients that insist that SOMETHING is a problem when it is not.

Greetings guys. I need advice on this.

The gurus in the house, please would you advice for a university or a community college in regards to getting a visa approval?
I intend applying to a community college because of its affordability.

They are not typically called community colleges in Canada — that's an American term used to describe colleges located within cities.

Also, the notion that colleges are far cheaper than universities in Canada is far from accurate , especially for international students Keep in mind that international tuition fees are often three times what domestic students pay.

In general:

Tuition fees for international students range from CAD 10,000 to 15,000 per year.
You also need to budget another CAD 10,000 to 15,000 for living expenses (accommodation, food, transportation, personal costs, etc.).
So, if you want to study comfortably, you should plan to spend between CAD 20,000 and 30,000 per year all-inclusive.

When comparing costs:

Master’s program at a university may cost around CAD 15,000 to 20,000 per year
college program typically ranges from CAD 13,000 to 18,000 per year

As you can see, the difference is not very significant — maybe a CAD 2,000/year gap on average, which is relatively small when you consider what you might be gaining with a Master’s degree.

Also, many colleges and universities charge similar fees, depending on the program and province.

From a long-term perspective:

Master’s degree holders are eligible for more immigration pathways. For example, Ontario has a PNP stream specifically for Master’s graduates

Some Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) prioritize candidates with advanced degrees.

A Master’s degree gives you higher points in Express Entry — 135 points vs. 128 for a post-secondary diploma. Trust me you need all the points you can get

It also typically leads to higher salaries, faster career growth, and helps you stand out in Canada’s competitive job market.

I always advise people: If money is the issue, look for public universities with:

Lower tuition fees
Higher or moderate acceptance rates

For example, Memorial University (in Newfoundland and Labrador) is one of the most affordable in Canada. Last year, international Master’s students paid around CAD 3,222 to 4,833 per year — that’s less than 5 million Naira a year!

https://univcan.ca/about-universities-canada/facts-and-stats/tuition-fees-by-university/

With proper budgeting, you could complete a full Master’s program for under 15 million Naira total.

Plus, after graduation, if you get a job and meet the criteria, you may be eligible for the NL Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) under the International Graduate Category

Just remember

Always choose a school and program with a long-term goal in mind.
PR is not guaranteed.
Jobs are not easy — you’ll need to hustle and position yourself well.
So, it’s not just about selecting any school — you need to be strategic

I could say more, but I’ll stop here.

Guys Please Advise me,
My husband applied for student visa for me and his sister separately. Mine got denied, his sister's own got approved today. He wants to reapply for me though, but the reason mine got denied was due to insufficient funds... I told him to wait before spending money and reapply for me so the money does not reduce too much but he said flight is getting expensive everyday. He just booked flight for his sister, paid for her accommodation. Sincerely I am happy for his sister but sad that the money he's supposed to use for my proof of funds is reducing,,, how do I explain this without them thinking I am not happy for the sister?

Also can I use same PAL to apply again or I need to request another from the school?

Thank you for this insight, Sir. But I'm going for an undergraduate program. I have HND in Crop Production Technology and I can't do a direct masters with it. Besides I want to change a career path. So I'm starting all over.

Good day fam.
I would like to ask if 8 months certificate program will pose a red flag during visa application.

I'm going for a certificate course (8months) which is a pathway to a diploma program. So after the 8months course I'm expected to proceed to the diploma which takes 2 years to complete in the same college.

Hello house, good afternoon.

I hope you all remembered the fellow who recently shared his Ban story? Here I am again. Three years anniversary will hold in September with my other fellow colleagues whom I found on the way while I was sharing my ban story.

Pls I will like to ask if there is any one here who is using any of the licensed immigration lawyers presently because I couldn't reach any of them when I googled them.

Pls I need your help on this. Thank you family.
