Oh wow.... life in Ghana is very safe, right? No gangsters, no terrorist groups, no cartels to be found in that country, abi? 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Lol, is it cheap data or the very the poor education system in Nigeria I should blame for this?

He's rolling with bad gangs. He's probably grown wings, and beyond control; hence the reason they had to "deceive" him to go to Ghana.

Me saying I won't do extra is based on him going against my best advice. Of course, I won't harm him; if I say school in Nigeria or Cameroon, it's what I think is best for him. But if he decides to go back to the UK for example, he's free. But if he gets into trouble, I ain't going out of my way to sort his shii. He'll also be an adult in 4 years time (18 years). He should prepare to move out too if he continues with those bad companies... Let him not come and corrupt his younger ones.

It's actually a choice. Stay in Africa, where I as your father have people that can help me to train you to become a better person for yourself. Or go back to the UK, continue with your "bad friends", and I won't have the time to make you a better person (because I have to work my arse out to fend for you and your siblings). Make a choice; but live by the outcome of the choice you made
E be like say naaa the same ancestors you and my popsy share cheesy cheesy cheesy
Popsy go warn you ahead and if you no listen, if anything happen to you. Walahi e no go move am. Even make the pikin dey die dey go; make everybody dey run up and down, e go just dey look you.

Sure, sure! It seems a tad convenient to completely ignore the fact that Ghana is also battling its own criminal gangs because you wish to magnify the gang problems in the UK, all in some weird bid to win this one, abi? undecided

Oh is that the reason for making crude childish comments and asking unintelligent questions? To win? Omg! grin

I would have educated you with more contextual facts of the case but it is pointless.

... a parent has d right to send his child anywhere even against his desire.
You are wrong on this. All Western countries including UK have the right to take children away from their parents at any time if they feel they are in harms way.

You as a parent are only essentially helping the country bring the child up until he or she turns 18 or whatever the legal age of adulthood is in that country.

You are right about how the The JAPA "FOR THE SAKE OF MY CHILDREN" crew should take note of all this shenanigans though!

What is this one saying.

I had a university mate, that born and brought up in england. So utterly useless and lacked any motivation to succeed whatsoever.

Till his father made the call that he was going back to Nigeria to attend University. You need to see what 4 years of attending private Christian in Nigeria did to this young man’s destiny.

I assure you that he hated every moment of the 4 years, he experienced malaria, he knew firsthand the spiritual principality called “sapa” but years after he says it, it was the best decision his father ever made for him.

After rolling with Naija boys, the young man is now adequate motivated, with a dazzling professional career in the UK

Here are a couple of simple questions for you to answer. undecided

➜ Did all the other students who attended the same private Christian University in Nigeria also turn out just as good or even better than this boy, whose story you want us to swallow?
➜ Did everyone who had the same or similar experience as this boy back in that Nigerian University come out proclaiming that the experience was the best for them?

You would be given facts, Your own is to come up with “mumu assumptions” to support your faulty thinking.

Even in Harvard, is it every graduate that gets a job or “makes it in life”. But i can tell you categorically a university that more than 95% of its graduates have good careers and are thriving, is indeed an amazing University.

I don’t want you to swallow any story. I was his course mate.

1. An anecdotal tale is not a statement of fact, but rather a subjective tale that can only be explored from the perspective of the individual

2. It isn't! That is one of the big reasons why you would really read similar tales of Harvard, like the one you told earlier of your private Nigerian University. A school is not a fix for motivational problems in the life of a teenager or adult. undecided

3. Where do you get this claim that more than 95% of Harvard graduates have good careers, though? Or are you insinuating that your Nigerian private University has a more than 95% graduate success rate? 🙄🙄🙄

4. Whatever helped your coursemate overcome his lack of motivation was not the school or Nigeria. There must have been something else in it. Something tells me it may be related to his relationship with his father, since he attributes the success to his father in some way. undecided

I won’t answer any further question about my alma mater. Just dey play.

Mscheww. someone that hated and still despises his father.

Let me tell you the reason he found his motivation, he was lucky enough to be surrounded by brilliant lads. I just don’t want to mention the course, most of us were best graduating students from our secondary schools including yours truly.

When you are surrounded by people who wake up to attend class, you see people reading for test and exam. Subconsciously FOMO sets in, you ask what they are reading for. They tell XFC 213 is going be tested tomorrow, you sef you go join read. You see people doing assignments you sef join follow, you see people doing group work you sef join follow. Like that like that, that was what really helped him. Same as when we graduated and were job hunting.

1. But according to you, he said sending him to Nigeria is the best thing his father did, right? That says a lot about the possible reason behind the motivation. undecided

2. Brilliant lads? Do you know how many out there are surrounded 24/7 by brilliant lads, but still end up never cutting life? It is not as clear-cut as you are trying to make it sound. undecided

3. Yeah, that does not work for everyone at all. I know this from my personal experience. undecided

4. Stop telling me this bloody arse lie, abeg! I was surrounded by people who studied and did assignments, yet that never helped me in any way become like them. 😭😭😭😭😭

Adjusting to a new environment can be tough for kids. I jokingly told my 6-year-old she'd be switching from private to public school in Abuja for playing too much, and her reaction was priceless! She refused to eat for a day – clearly, she wasn't a fan of the idea. I can imagine the transition from London to Ghana was a significant shock for the boy, given his popularity and likely attachment to his familiar surroundings.

Again he goes off with "assumptions" after being given facts.

I bet it can't work for you. Even if you are surrounded with geniuses from Einstein to Edison i doubt it would make any impact on your life with your kind of thought pattern or influence you to achieve success in life.

So i would make i bet with you. You need 3 months of time and dedication. If you agree to it and your life doesn't change trust me nothing can help. If you agree to 3 months of full dedication and participation i would tell you what i have in mind.

People insulting the parents have no clue about how badly behaved kids can get in England. I even wonder how many of them are even parents.

If the boys wins when the case is reheard, then the entire family should just move back to Ghana.

Very simple stuff.

He is British and if the next ruling goes his way, his local authority's children services will facilitate his immediate return to London.
He is also Ghanaian, not that he is in an unknown land, litigation can also be started in Ghana to ensure no immigration rights is accorded to the government. Two can play the game, if the court in Ghana rules that the parents have rights then that's it until the child becomes adult to make his own decisions. Age of decisions in different climes maybe different.

He is in an "unknown" land to him, being born and raised in London, feeling culturally displaced and alienated.

There is nothing wrong in relocating him to Ghana to continue his education but why was it done without any of his parents moving to Ghana with him but "dumped" in a boarding school rather thar a day secondary where he would more likely gradually ease into the Ghanaian society with the comforting presence of at least one of his parents?

Why did both parents remain in London, leaving their minor alone in Ghana but left in care of extended family members who he may not be in close relationship with before being relocated to Ghana.

E no easy to relocate an entire family back to Ghana

Will his other siblings (if he has any) be willing to move back to Ghana, kids used to their London lifestyles?

1. Correction.. You gave me no facts. I just told you that I had some of what your friend did and experienced n to surge of motivation and determination for life as you claim he did during his time. Facts apply to all or a set, not just one individual. undecided

2. Being surrounded by geniuses DOES NOT cause motivation and a surge of desire for success in individuals. Most of Einstein's colleagues and wives were just ordinary people who conveniently saw him as a pain or an abnormal they had to deal with. undecided

3. A moment ago, you were suggesting it worked for your friend. But, here you are insinuating that it will work for others, including me? Are you certain you wish to do this? We are talking here about the raising of unruly teenagers. Are you certain you want to go this far? 😁

Please find and listen to a couple of videos from the YouTube channel, The School of Life, then we will talk.
