Truidstarr:Chelsea played 57 games while their opponent played 78 games. all in the last season. A more believable excuse would be the weather as it seems to favour the south Americans more than the Europeans. Any other excuse does not fit. |

Amedino99:The Brazilian 2024 season ended on the 8th of December 2024. The new season resumed in March 2025. The Brazilian players have rested for about 3 months and are fresher. The European season just ended in May ( last month here). The same players played euro nations league and World Cup qualifiers. They are exhausted. |

Yet it is likely that Europe still ends up winning the FIFA CWC. Time will tell. The end of season excuse is not cogent. Truidstarr: |

Europe is still the highest level of the game in world football today but South American club football is not far behind in terms of technical quality and football proficiency. The point is South American football deserves respect. I get sick everytime one ignorantly played down the quality of football in Pele's era all because he played for Santos and never played for any Euro side even though he played against them and beat them black and blue |

opes:the conditions in the first picture makes sense if true. An opportunity to clear a winger that barely plays and a misfiring striker + 17m just to get osimhen? A steal of a deal. |

Odunayaw:14 appearances out of a possible 61. Mostly due to injuries and lackluster performances. |

TheSuperNerd:Most of the players of the 1970 brazilian team which is one of the greatest teams in history were in south american leagues and few played in Europe. Even those that played in Europe were produced in South America and did so later on. From 1950 to 1970 Brazil dominated the world cup with players from there league. The south american league was at par with europe till the 1990's. That is when there was an increase in the rate european leagues bought south american players. Even that great 1982 Brazilian world cup team was a product of the Brazilian league. All these Zico, falcao, socrates etc.. Its just that the best South American players now go to Europe early. Even now if the best South American players dont go to Europe i dont understand how European leagues will be superior. Vinicious Junior rodrygo marqunhos etc in the sao paulo or botafogo will make them simply unbeatable to European teams. Botafago without those players can compete with european teams and now imagine them with those players. Again most of the 1978 world cup and a large part of the 1986 world cup winning argentine teams were products of their league. Even maradona played in argentina until 22. Zico of brazil came to Europe in his mid twenties. South America and Europe are the homes of football. All the other continents are trying to catch up. |

No it isn't. The South American teams also play as much games in a single campaign from Brazillian Serie A to their local paulista leagues and then the continental Copa Libertadores/Copa Sudamericana. typicalgamer: |

Europe rested during the winter break except EPL. For instance Ligue 1 and The Bundesliga went on break during the winter. Also, your 3 months rest argument is fallacious. Brazillian teams engaged in paulista league games between January and March this year. Truidstarr: |
