Forest Cobra? You must be living close to a forest setting.

What state or geographical location of Nigeria is this?

There are no king cobras in Africa so there's no no way you'll encounter one here unless it's in a zoo

It is a common snake found nearly everywhere in this country.

There are no know documentary evidences of King Cobra's in Africa.

They exist mainly in Asia.

When provoked, it can stand as tall as a five (5) feet man and look in the face before spilling venom.

You don't want to come close if you don't have a weapon.

The thing is that the gland housing the venom is the head and an accidental scratch from the fangs can deliver potent venom

Even if you're a novice about snakes merely looking at this snake you would know it's venomous.

Rattle snake ke? That's one massive cobra. And who said rattle snakes are harmless?
Anyway they are not endemic to Nigeria

That is a West African forest cobra, it's a very agile and venomous snake. It's attracted to farm birds especially chicken. Do you have farm birds around you?

6-7yr old forest cobra. You are lucky you stroke first.
