Serendipity2023:
I want to buy a phone for my sister.

Camera should be sharp

I am considering Redmi Note 13 or Redmi Note 14--
8/128 for any.

I have seen bad reviews like sim connectivity issues, bad camera, battery draining fast etc on both devices.

Are these isolated cases?

Should I choose Infinix or Samsung A series instead?

I have a budget of 200-270k.

Thanks
No reasonable A series fits your budget

Might be a software bug as long as the battery is not performing abnormally it is nothing to sleep for. I haven't checked this chart since last year

I bought Xiaomi 12 Pro on AliExpress on the 28 of May, it arrived in the country on 13 of June showing custom clearance has started, and till date after two weeks no update, it's just stuck there. It was delivered via PostNL, but when I contacted NIPOST they are telling me that my device is not in the country based on their tracking data. So is there anything I could do to get my device, I'm willing to pay the import duties if only I can get my device. But now I'm considering opening dispute tomorrow.

Hello bro, how was work today?

Pls, for a budget of 500k is the Redmi Pad Pro 5g a good buy? Or there are better options.

Use case:
1) Content consumption

2) Online/Virtual classes and meetings.

3) Bigger screen to read my PDF materials, DWG files from AutoCAD and will definitely include light multitasking.

4) An extension for my laptop screen.

5) And finally an alternative to my laptop for quick creation and editing of excel/word/powerpoint docs on the go.

I don't know why the phone is showing no service, i have tried both airtel and glo SIM.

Though I have been able to log into my gmail with the phone, and open NL, but the apps have been trying to download on playstore for the past 30min just keep saying pending.

I was wondering if it's the no service that affects it.
Can you kindly share your user experience with the Redmi Note 14 so far?? Has the Service issues been resolved.

GrandMufti:
Actually, unlocking bootloader is not the issue; you will have serious issues with google attestation services. Meaning that you would be unable to use most apps.

As for mtk, forget it. Go for Snapdragon if you want to tweak your phone. But I wouldn't advise you to use your primary phone for this purpose.
On the 1st paragraph, I totally disagree with you because, appart from the usual start - up message ( yellow or red state) that "...your warranty has been voided.... " on some devices, unlocking bootloader doesn't prevent apps from running. Rather, root access is what restricts some apps from working (talking from experience).

Besides, smartphone brands like Google Pixel, One plus, Samsung and even Xiaomi itself allow for bootloader unlocking on their devices. If that is the case, would you now say such devices won't pass Google attestation?

Again, your assertion in the second paragraph is not correct! I used MTK chip for 15 years before I joined Snapdragon earlier this year, and all the devices (MTK) I used during those periods passed through different tweakings and installation of custom roms. In fact, the introduction of Generic System Image (GSI) made the whole experience much more easier because with it, I kept experimenting with different Images in order to settle for the best among them.

Snapdragon is what I can't say much about at the moment, in terms of tweaking. I be JJC, trying to learn the rudiments of rom modification on the Chip. I'm only waiting for convenient time to unlock my RN13 bootloader.

Glad to hear the issue has been resolved. The RN14 isn't as bad as some people are trying to paint it based on few bad experience from some users.

It should do almost all of the above. But I am skeptical about number 4.

You can read the reviews and make a final decision.

Good evening everyone, I'm having issue on my Redmi note 11. My apps always refresh/restart whenever I open another.

For example yesterday when I tried to logging to my binance, they sent me an email so before I clicked on the Gmail and come back to binance again, the app closes,

Even on Twitter, I can't even use grok to upload a photo because it closes and restart.

Please what can I do to stop the issue?

This is the one thing I hate about redmi devices. The ram management is somewhat aggressive. Imagine connecting to a VPN for critical stuff and the stuff disconnects after 5 to 10 minutes. It's not that I have other heavy stuff running in the background o, it just kills it. And sadly, I don't think there's anything you can do to resolve it.
At this point, I'm only a redmi user cos of their solid hardware. I personally feel their software is shi+

I've used my ridiculous Tecno tablet with even less ram for the same Vpn app and it never closes until I disconnect it myself. Even if I leave it overnight. And that's a 2gb ram phone with one shitty processor while the 14c is 4gb ram with "memory expansion"

The minimum RAM configuration you need today for multitasking is 6GB

Good afternoon. I just bought the redmi Note 14 today. Please is there anything I need to do to enjoy the phone better, and where can I get it gcam
This is una secondary school boy question dey funny at times. If u got a new phone, bro go to YouTube and search for any video on the same phone and see how you can do to work with it.

After updating my redmi 14c android software, as time goes on I started experiencing network issues. If I am making calls, the network will just go off and it's difficult to connect to any call. This happens sometimes. Before the update it wasn't like this. I don dey regret say I update this phone now. Anyone with the same issue with redmi 14c?

Na so!
In fact, with the help of one YT video, I've been able to debloat my Redmi device, removing 95 pre-installed apps from it. The phone now runs faster than before and there's reduction in battery consumption.

You have 4GB Ram. Extended RAM is a gimmick.

When that noise of extended RAM Started in 2021 we said it here.

I will even advise you turn off the extended RAM feature. If your Storage speed is lower than your RAM speed the phone will pick the lower limit to run your phone.
