Ms. Israel, a single mother of two, was a resident of Mbiabong Itam in Itu Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.

Lifeless body found in A’Ibom gutter, police begin probe

The lifeless body of a young lady identified as Goodness Israel has been discovered abandoned in a gutter along Udok Street, off Barracks Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Our correspondent reports that the corpse was discovered in the early hours of Wednesday by residents of the area.

The cause of her death has not been ascertained at the time of filing this report.

Apart from the foam in her nose, there was no mark to indicate whether she was gunned down or macheted by her attackers.

However, the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, who spoke to PUNCH Metro in Uyo on Wednesday, said the deceased’s name was revealed through her NIN, which was found with her corpse

She said, “The name on the NIM found carries ‘Goodness Edem Israel’. Investigation is in progress; I will communicate further developments.”

I saw it just a moment ago at Facebook and I was wondering how she got there ...may her soul rest in peace...if there's no mark of violence on her body then she probably died by poisoning or sudden death by natural cause...may God console her loved ones

There is just a thin line between humans and wild animals.
As one police officer said, people should learn to inform their love one's about their movements and one should be very observant of their surroundings.

I know most people would come here to spew trash just as in facebook claiming she went for hookup but from the pictures it seems she was poisoned and unfortunately the police might not do a thorough job.

In Nigeria, you go out in the morning and by the next day, the dead body is discovered in 'gutter'. No value for human life anymore.
