My relationship with my ex was truncated when I realised how she label this creatures what they are not. I asked her for evidence of my cat been a spy for the dark world, aunty couldn't bring one forward. I asked her how an innocent wall gecko is a monitoring spirit something going into extinction in China due to eating rate, she couldn't bring forward an answer. All her points were based on hearsay and emotions. I knew we won't deal and I had to jettison her asap. This is someone who when a bird chirps at night, she will start reciting war prayers against another creature like herself. I won't live the rest of my life in fear and such rubbish living.
you saved yourself a lifetime of future troubles. she is a symptom of the dearth of our educational system. ignorance mixed with religion is a deadly cocktail e.g isis and other jihadist group. This kind of people have lost all ability for rational thinking and discourse

It's not just an African thing, it's a nocturnal animal, anyone that believes in spiritualism knows that a nocturnal animal can easily be used to carry out or invoke an act, it's now left for you as an individual to know when you are under an attack from such or when such animal is just having its own fun time.
I love admiring owls, I have cats, I even made my wife family love cat and they are now a proud cats owner.
My mum too now love cat although she still reacts to hearing birds sound at night, hopefully, she go ultimately adjust.

Owl. Very useful bird...it helps keep rodent and i believe snake populaitons down.

A little story...back in the nineties when i and my siblings were kids...my brother and I shared a room. One night my brother was woken up by a loud noise like a bump on the window of the room. Because it was late in the night and all the windows and doors were locked...and we were not allowed to go out in the night, my bro just went back to sleep. I heard nothing...was sleeping deeply. The following morning we found a dead owl below the window.

Our speculation (along with our mother, who was at the time a lecutrer) was that the poor thing saw it's reflection in the window (there was a outside light which in the night reflected on the window to the point that it looked like a mirror), thought it was an enemy, and attacked only to bang its head so hard that it died...fracture of skull.

It was disposed of by a chap who occasionally did odd jobs around the house and who happened to be around that morning

Spiritual attack? Note, we are all born again christians in our family, but that did not cross our mind! cheesy Maybe we were too rationalist to be good christians! cheesy

Please let the poor bird go.... Africans have a dysfunctional mindset.... Birds that are good for the ecosystem we label them bad.... So the bible that says God feeds them and knows them by their names is now part of the evil.... Omo mental slavery na disease

One among the most adorable creatures.
The stealthy nature of these bird is second to none.
I hope to have a one as a pet some day.

May I add that the most evil creature, is actually man. Between the self acclaimed apostle, who raped a 14year old and this beautiful bird, which is more evil?

Ps: The owls in the picture below are taken note of those accusing them of being a witch.

The bird is not a witch, the bird sees beyond human spectrum and announces ill-wind before it happens. The bird is a messenger that gets hanged for passing a message of omen, almost always.

Nollywood fueled the potential elimination of this bird. This bird eats rodents, lizards and snakes keeping us safe from these pesky and dangerous animals. Just as Bats too decimate mosquitoes. If owls disappear, there won't be natural control of these pests. Owls hatch almost only 3 chicks throughout the breeding year. That is what makes them exotic, because they are rare and prone to extinction due to poaching, cultural beliefs and medicinal belief about eating it.

I have always wanted, but too lazy, to create a thread on those 3 creatures!

The religious folks are right In recognizing the extra sensory abilities of these animals but wrong in Demonizing them!
