I think they are pushing an extreme form of state rights where fundamental rights are state/circuit dependent.
I boggles the mind to think that one Federal judge can rule something unconstitutional and leave it in place for others outside that state/circuit.

I understand there may be bad actors using the universal injunctions, but that could be easily remedied by the Supreme court taking the cases quicker.
And who gets injured?
I get the feeling that this Supreme Court doesn't rate people and doesn't seem to care about the costs nor the harms they may have to endure until illegal executive orders are argued.


Just disappointed in where the US is going.
Congress can easily fix this by rewriting the rules of the court system.
But the way it is now, Republicans holding power, it is also broken.
We are getting much closer to an Imperial presidency.

Trump is pausing immigration hearings for citizenships and green cards alike. He's also trying to pause visas for more countries.
All non citizen immigrants are probably freaking out at this point, if they have any sense.

Some because they are already US citizens and want to burn the ladder they used and some who were never able to step foot in the US and so want others not to as well.

You might want to read the New Testament, you know the New Convent, and not just the Old Testament if you've read the Bible at all.
A Christian Church that does not break in the name of "love and tolerance" is not a Christian Church.

What they did is decide that laws are legal or illegal based on the state of who brings the suit.
I understand that nation-wide injunctions have some inherent flaws, but the alternative is a piecemeal way of stopping an Executive branch that decides to push an illegal action.
So, legality of a Federal action depend on what state you live in.
It's silly.
Say that a Fed. Judge in a Massachusetts district puts an injunction on the Birthright citizenship and another in a Texas district does not.
That means children born in Massachusetts would be citizens and children born in Texas would not be?

I understood the ruling that's why I told people that it's nuts. I have a legal background and I study American law for fun and knowledge because I still have a desire to study Law in the U.S. but right now I am getting disappointed.

One thing I know about law is that statutory interpretation by judges aims to avoid ambiguity. This opinion by SCOTUS is ambiguous. The law isn't meant to confuse you or provide uncertainty that's what these Justices did with this ruling and that's why it cannot be a legal/sound reasoning (ratio decidendi) used in coming up with the opinion. Judiciary interpretation anywhere in the world aims to avoid ambiguity but this opinion didn't. It's meant to usher in chaos and uncertainty just as intended that's why I told feedthenation, that Felon 47 as he calls him, understood the language SCOTUS spoke even though we all know that Orange Mussolini is lying. It's a nakedly partisan ruling and believe me you, these people are destroying their own power and history will not be kind to them.

Just like I advised Cococandy, get your passport ready and jet out when necessary. Things are only going to get a lot worse and don't even count on the Midterm elections and 2028.

Are you aware that Chinese control mining in Congo. DRC is very rich 67% natural forests, 11% arable land and minerals are found in almost 35% of it's 2.35 million sq kilometers.

The conflict are from external forces with Rwanda being a big player fueling it. They want the minerals . There are ethnic groups that were separated by colonial borders during the Scramble for Africa that reside in both countries.
