They won't remove it. The SCOTUS is supposed to interpret the law as written and not make up their own laws.
As written birthright citizenship by Trump argument was meant for children of slaves. At the time it exempted those living in America but citizens of another nation or jurisdiction . That leaves a lot of room for interpretation. I really don't think it meant anyone could cross no man's land give birth and that child becones a citizen entitled to all benefits. Another example , if an army invades Ametica mainland , do children borne of the invading army get instant citizenship?

Politically this is a very hot tomato , it needed someone with brass balls to take this all the way to the Supreme Court .
