Someone who never in her life said, I have made so much money for the day, week, month or year and choose not to make more money.

It's like Berny Sanders and his million dollar mansions. He wants to take other millionaires money but keeps his own.

There is hardly anybody in the UK that cannot afford school meals, only children with household income less than £7.4k get free school meals above Year 2. I know of children in my daughters school whose parents earn £20k to £30k and they pack sandwiches. The rest of us pay the school.
Meals should be a part of School.
Children shouldn't have to worry about what they'll eat at school.
We as a society should be able to get behind that.

As I said, the underprivileged. I'm certain Mamdani is not proposing to feed the children of those who can afford to feed their own children. And New York policies will not be for the entire USA, I doubt.

My niece came to London from Manchester for Christmas, and was surprised their London nephews just got on the buses without paying. She said she'd do the same when she went back to Manchester, but I had to let her know London has a free transport policy for certain ages which Manchester seems to lack. Her mother told me a bus driver refused to let a primary school girl travel because she had no money. We'd burn the bus company if they do the same in London.
Water is wet.

Even if we were, I think we'll be ok.
Children didn't make the choice to be brought into the world.
They shouldn't have to suffer for parents who are making the wrong choices.

They do similar in Boston for students who don't get bus service to/from school. They get an mbta pass instead. I think it's a cheaper method in some cases.

I feel you. You'd hate school meals for the underprivileged too, and wouldn't mind them starving. Hopefully, New Yorkers won't unreason like you do.

Do let Amazontopaz know that UK that is not socialist has most of the same policies as Mamdani is proposing, and the lights stay on. While USA that is not socialist is curtailing civil liberties, though not where guns are concerned.

Bullseye.
Mamdani talks about socialism and seizing the means of production.

I doubt you'll respond to this by asking me how I know whether he means what he said.

Parents should take responsibility for feeding their children at school as they do at home. We are not a third world country and there is nobody that cannot buy bread and ham for sandwiches. This £2 Ham will feed 2 children for 2 weeks. If it's Haram for you, Turkey dey. This was how we ate at school.

Budaatum will hardly respond. He feels Zohran only came into existence in 2025 running for the mayoral primaries.

That one na for your pocket. You have your own Mamdani in London, Sadiq Khan who introduced it last year to win votes. What's the difference between Year 6 and Year 7. Do children stop growing between that time or do their parents start affording to carry out their basic responsibility? You would think feeding a child for a week cannot be done with £2. Any child whose parents cannot put this together is already in the Care system

They are all hypocrites, All those who say billionaires should not exist are millionaires or thousandnaires, How much of their wealth have they given to the poor people in their zip code or on their street

Its always pocket watching and pointing to others.. People are generally conservative about what is theirs but liberal and want to give away what belongs t others

When will Bernie and co lead the way by handing his wealth to people who o not have or open his own home to the homeless in his city

Socialism works until you run out of Other peoples money to give out

And their parents have responsibilities

And any parent that cannot take care of a responsibility this minor has already probably lost the child to Social Services

Imagine candycoco saying, "The Walmart family of billionaires ensures that most of their workers remain part-time so they don't have to provide healthcare."

Yet, she seems perfectly fine with them exploiting illegal migrants in farms, the construction industry, and Walmart 😂😂 It seems like: as long as you're not a billionaire, you're allowed to exploit people

They scream against lower taxes but when you ask them if they offered to pay more than their legal tax bracket they say No

They want unrestricted immigration but when you ask them how many of these people are they willing to house in their house, they go quiet, Like when they shipped migrants to Marthas vineyard

The billionaires they are against are those who create the jobs and pay the bulk of the taxes we all enjoy

Bezos for example, employs millions of Americans which gives these people hope and are able to cater for their families and pay taxes. I know many people whose first job was Amazon delivery an many still do it. So if you take the money from Bezos or cap how much he can make, who will create those opportunities for people

Yet they are mad that Bezos is a billionaire spent 50m for his own wedding, when the same people making 100k spend almost $50k on their own wedding

Its all jealousy and hypocrisy

Yes, so irresponsible parents have children.
Irresponsible parents send their children to school without food.
What do you suggest happens?
There are either two options, school feeds them or they don't eat.
Choose.

This is a real situation that happens often.
It's all well to rage at the irresponsible parents but there are people who have to deal with things like this when they see them.

I suggest they be reported to Social Services for Home Visit. It's one of the rare and surefire glimpses that the State has into domestic abuse, why get rid of it

And to be clear only child neglect can make a parent send a child to school without food in the 1st world, not poverty. Nobody is that poor to not be able to afford even P&J sandwiches

---Senator Thom Tillis, one of the very few Republicans who dared to show integrity and stand up to Trump---announced he won’t seek reelection---

---How did Felon 47 react? He celebrated. He called it “Great News!”---This is today’s Republican Party: loyalty to one man outweighs loyalty to country, truth, or principle---When a senator votes against reckless spending and Medicaid cuts, when he dares to put his constituents before a cult of personality, he’s pushed out and mocked---

---Tillis’s retirement isn’t just the end of a Senate career---It’s a warning sign of what happens when a party purges every last ounce of courage from its ranks---what will be the state of GOP after Felon 47 is long gone?---
Democrats have outsourced their thinking to Pelosi and the likes . There were literally no dissenters whatevetr major bill democrats bring forth. There is and was unanimous rejection of almost every bill tabled by Trump.
In summary democrats are brainless

There are a lot of people who are unfit to be parents. Whether they can afford sandwiches or not is quite irrelevant when they don’t take the time to get their kids ready for school.

But can we afford to let these children down? I don’t think so.

You know very well there's lots of irresponsible or just hard up parents in the unthird world country you live in who can not feed their kids. And that's not a reason to put them in care which costs a lot more than just helping their parents feed them. Besides, they'd be very unhealthy, and a liability to the socialist health care system, so we better feed them before they become a greater liability.

Having hungry children in your child's class will negatively impact your child's education, because their hungry rumbling stomach will distract the entire class.

If it were up to me, people who intend to be parents will sit a test to qualify just as they must pass a test for a driving license. But since its not up to me, I'm glad to live in a country that cares for it's vulnerables.
