Hi,

You should not be worried. It is usual for a flight booking to expire while the application is at the Consulate.

If you are yet to submit your application, you can choose to pay for a dummy flight ticket. This will give you a ticket that remains valid while your application is under consideration. It usually costs 5-15 USD

All the best with your application!

rima961:
For example, I had my flight booking via Wakanow, I was able to generate a booking invoice (i didnt pay) but i did this booking 3 days prior to the appointment day
Which i know that the booking might have been cancelled. Should i be worried?
Am I on track??

Good day, everyone.

Please I have some questions. I intend traveling to the UK, August/September, and I'd like to tour some European countries - likely Germany, Netherlands and Sweden.

I previously had a Schengen visa from France and I visited Paris with it in 2023. Can I still apply from France, despite no intentions of visiting France this time?
If Yes, how best do I reflect these countries I'd be visiting in my application? ( Flight, hotels, etc.) I'll likely be using Trains/Buses from the UK, and will only fly when absolutely necessary and will stay with friends.

Many Thanks.

Please is NIN compulsory to include in this application?

Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by VisaZest:
Hi,

Coincidentally, in Nigeria, for visa applications, France makes decisions on behalf of the Netherlands. What this means is that if you want to apply to the Netherlands, you will start by filling the France Visas form and indicating that your primary destination is Netherlands. You will also submit at TLS just like a France application. With this in mind, you can make the Netherlands your primary destination then Germany and Sweden the 2 secondary destinations.

Alternatively, you can apply to visit France, make a quick stop of 2 nights in Paris then move on your next country from there. This way, you have a reason to apply to France directly.

To reflect the countries you are visiting, you can:
1. book a multi city flight eg arrives in Amsterdam and departs to Nigeria from Stockholm. Then move around the Schengen area by bus, train or flights as you intend and leave from Stockholm to Nigeria
2. alternatively, you can book arrival and return to one city, move around then return to original city for departure to Nigeria
3. the itinerary you submit should show the cities you are visiting and should have detailed activities
4. for accommodation, you can request invitation letters from your friends or simply book hotels for all cities. Hotel is more straightforward but make sure you have corresponding funds to cover the number of nights you book

By the way, except you have checked in bags, in some cases, flights may be faster/cheaper than trains. You can download Omio app to see how best to move around from city to city.

All the best with your application!

Hi everyone, my visa renewal was denied! I dnt know maybe because my hotel reservation canceled before the visa decision because the hotel mailed me that they cancelled which the visa was still in process. Please could the hotel be the reason for the refusal ?
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Chelseaboy101: 6:40pm On Jul 03, 2025
From personal experience, I don't think so . The embassy would have requested for a valid hotel booking if the one you submitted got canceled while processing your application..

So what could have been the reason since it’s a renewal?

You were denied once last year; you reapplied and got a 6month multi entry. How many times did you use this visa during that 6months?
what exactly is your purpose for traveling? This is summer period. Is your purpose for traveling relative? I always say timing and planning visa applications are important.
There would be more cases of such if people are not mindful of these theoretical questions i have raised? Even so you are a frequent traveler, time your applications.
Sorry about your refusal, re apply during winter or you can gamble visa shopping. We never can tell you be lucky again.

@Abikeadebey
Hmm. I think I'm tapping some sense from this. Basically, if you're applying in summer season, make sure your itinerary has "summer-themed activities".

And like you said, maybe this person only travelled once with their multi-entry visa. Although, there's no problem in that but visa officers can be sus in all sort of ways.

Hi,

I am sorry to hear about the refusal.

Unless we have a total picture of your application, I believe no one can really say what may have happened.

It would be worth reviewing the major things such as:
1. Home times- family, employment, investments/property,
2. Finances
3. did you have a detailed cover letter with your itinerary and other key information?

Hello @rima961

Rebook for the original dates and duration at the same hotel, and ensure that the new booking is refundable.
Didn't you pay for your booking reservation?
You could notify the Embassy by email or by phone of the new booking reference number.
Actually rebooked; in my mail I got the "This reservation was canceled because of an invalid credit card."
So I assume this was my mistake.

However, I looked into another hotel reservation for the same date and duration, which has a status that reads "Confirmed."
Please, i am seeing this email: fncci@france-nigeria.org and adfr.lagos-cslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr
Which is valid?

I used the visa twice without over staying! Maybe I was denied due to peak period truly! Because the same happened to me last year

Marcgrace:
Hello @rima961

This one : visas.lagos-fslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr

You will need to explain to the embassy that you were surprised by the email from the named hotel regarding the cancellation due to an invalid credit card, while your other bookings have not experienced any issues, as those reservations are still confirmed.

Attached is a copy of the new hotel booking and the email from the other hotel regarding the invalid credit card.

Thank you so much
I appreciate your assistance
I have sent in an email.

Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by VisaZest: 9:23am On Jul 05, 2025
Hi,

You can definitely apply for France. There are applicants who even reapply immediately to the same Schengen country, correct whatever was missing from past applications and they are issued visas.

If you check page 462 of this thread you will see a detailed post I made to explain the application process. The only difference is that instead of employment letter/leave etc, as a business owner, your documents to show income and meaningful work will be different.

Given the series of refusals you have gotten, I suggest you settle down to review carefully each application to see what may have been wrongly done.

Check these areas:
1. Home ties- what is making you come back to Nigeria?
2. Finances- this is just not about having a big amount in your bank account but an explanation as to the source of funds and how it has built up over time
3. Do you have travel history to other countries? This will show a pattern of visiting and returning to Nigeria.

All the best with your application!
