I give him 5k everyday, that's 25k per week. Things are too expenses these days.

a meal in my kids school is now 2k - so depending on the school 4k a day may be what they are charging.
preparing food for the kids to take to school daily is an option, but it comes with its own wahala if you dont have a maid.

as things stand - the last born gets food cooked for him to take to school, the older kids buy food in school.
also some schools have a policy against children bringing cooked food to school.

i actually just pay directly to someone handling the food, rather than give the kids the cash.

Some pple don't look at their expense per annum so they don't know just how much they are wasting....

Imagine banker earning 6M per year
complaining he doesn't have much to show....when we analysed his expense togeda...
cost on DSTV premium is over 400k because he wants to have all stations, table water was a whopping 50k per month(600k per annum).

.. by the time we got to the fuel he burns on generator per night, beer, shawarma, and urgent 10k he sends to the parasites in his life.. he was sad all through the day

You are obviously a genz... I used to collect #3, three naira, to my primary school those years and I eat enough beans and yam and collect change. Meanwhile, I'm not up to 40 years old.

I have a friend who's shop is close to my place. He sells baked stuffs, meat pie, egg roll and all. The kids who come there spend over 2k. I kid you not. Some buy 2 meat pie which is 2k plus coke. Making 2k5. Our money no get value again.

I taught a child like that so obese she is just 14 but chronic hormonal imbalance what o meant by that is she is so obese and can eat 7 times a day. She mostly buy junks. Her parents give a her lot of pocket money and her hygiene issues is quite terrible. Sometimes it is even obvious to the class and school is on her period. She even leaks in class. But the stupid school doesn't care about hygiene and sanitation. Complained to them dem negedo even the VP sef no neat.

Very very lucky, but I think their mother need to be cautious with the way she spoiled them if she is not a very wealthy person. If she is giving them 12k now at secondary school level just for breakfast and lunch, it means they will be collecting 50k per day when they reach higher institutions.

The question is, would her income still be able to fund that lifestyle.

Apart from the obesity part, there is no amount of money a parent can give a female child that is too much.

If you don't give her enough pocket money, some predator for example a Nigerian politician may use his stolen funds to lure and corrupt her like they've already done by turning the daughters of the common man to their mistresses.

Also, when I was growing up, a lot of boys used to "lift" their parents properties, jewelries, building materials and at times generators and in one instance their Dads car and sell it for peanuts just to have pocket money to flex. This "may" not have happened if they were given regular pocket money.

Today's world is ultra expensive and parenting does not stop at just providing education, food and clothes for our kids.

God provide for all parents.

I received that a lot of time when the kontri was still in half-sane mode and I'm just looking at 40 right next to me.

I will eat more than enough and still have change left with me inside the #20

During my schooling I was give 50kobo notes and N1notes as pocket money.

Then most snacks were sold in kobo. Snacks like koroko, kuli kuli, tanfili, sispelebe and many more.

Our naira was so strong then.

So I spend 400 naira for their pocket money daily

Let the children eat very well at home in the morning, and give them #500 each to get snacks, it may be just biscuit Borns or something to just hold themselves before getting home in the afternoon, it's a pity we are bringing up lazy children in this our generation with the way we dish out money and always want to make them comfortable.

I'm nearing mid 30s and my church offering then was 1 naira out of it I would use 50kobo to buy I pack of tiger nut,1 groundnut and 1 colored ice cream and give God the other half.

Every morning I would be given #50 to go buy family bread,10 in a pack for breakfast at the bakery close to our house.
I never went to school with money bcoz our lunches were packed everyday and my family was comfortable.
This was late 90s btw
So #20 would be early 2000 depending on state
